well i own a 2004 v6 3.9l stang with more then a few problems at the moment.. the more expensive one asside from my catalytic convertersis a mass air flow sensor i been shopeing arround for one and they seam to be about 300$.. but i had a few people tell me that i could buy a cold air intake for arround 150$ and it would come with a new sensor i was woundering if this was true i want to get my baby back running but i am on a verry tight budget at the time being
so if this is true could i possibly have some help finding what intake to get.. or if its not true go ahead and burst my bubble so i atleast know lol thanks in advance for any help...

Why do you think that you need a new MAF?

i think he was under the impression he HAD to get a new, larger maf for gains from the intake, as he probably looked at a lot of the 350.00 maf/intake combos you see for gts. if that is the case, i wouldnt even worry about that. you are good with just an intake, use you stocker maf..damn, lost my train of thought. just took two ambien, feeling coooool. gonna make a few more posts then pass out.t.

i wish i was just under the impreshion that i needed a new one.. but apprentley mine went bad .. and trust me that byfar ant the only problems .. i took my car to a shope back when it broke down.. started running really sluggish wouldent shift propley and wount drive over 25 mph .. so like i said took it to a local shope they told me all 4 my o2 sensors are bad my air controle unit is bad my mass air flow sensor is bad and my catalytic converters are clogged they said they think it was all caused by 1 of the o2 sensors going bad and pumping in to much gass and not enough air but hell what do i know

I don't really trust most shops after them quoting me for a new coil when my spark plug wires were out of order. =|
The most I'd take from the shops are the error codes-- not what they say.
Although, your problem does sound like an MAF problem or an O2 sensor problem. I'm having MAF/O2 problems, too. I can't figure out if it's the MAF or O2. I just know that one side is running too lean so the other is running too rich :( [Haha, it's kinda funny]
And I didn't know V6's had 4 O2's? I thought they only had 2? I only know of 2 on my car. I could be wrong.
