I finally found long tube headers for my 95 GT which are $268. Summitt sells shorties for $89. Does it make a big difference in performance/sound?

longtubes sound better, and flow better, but they tend to get in the way, while shorties still flow great and give you clearence you need.

problems with some brands yes
i should put this in my sig: my BBK longtubes went in just fine, nothing to cut, nothing to mod, just loosen motor mounts and work your magic

Long tubes flow better and will give you more HP. I currently have shorties w/ a off road H pipe and I am considering long tubes for the 347 project im about to do. Want to buy my shorties and h pipe??

Longtubes on your car are a pain...LOL...if you dont have a lot of mods...then F-it do the shorty's......you can always sell em later and since your going to need remove them anyways to swap heads etc....who cares....so do shorty's "for now"...LOL

LTs make better torque than shorties. If your looking to squeeze everything out of the engine get LTs but if your not up for the challenge then get shorties.

Get what you can afford.

If they were the same price, I would go with longtubes.

I noticed more sound, than performance.

My BBK LT's went in fine and I actually have more clearance then I did with the equal lengths, the H-pipe for the LT's seems to hug undernieth better.

I had no problems with my bbk lt install. It took some time but no problems. All I had to do is jackup the car, and loosen the motormounts. Driver side goes in from underneath after raisin the engine and pass side from top after removing the starter.

in mho the long tubes are easier to install than equl length shorties, yes you gotta jack the motor a little but other than that they slide right in and you tighten em down, verses the shorties when you tighten em down there a pita trying to access the bolts in between tubes, then wrestling with the h-pipe to get it to line up and tighten, long tubes= easier= more torque and hp. and you dont lose much ground clearance at least my bbks dont. its a difference you hear and feel!

Ok, so by the sounds of it.. Long tubes are definetely better even though their gonna be a pain to install. Im trying to get as much power and the best sound out of the exhaust. I didnt see anybody post about MAC L/Ts.. Does anybody know about them?
