Default DipStick install in a C-4

Maybe someone can help me out here. I have a new rebuilt 1965 Mustang. New everything. The problem is when I tried to put in a chrome C-4 dipstick it shears the o-ring. It is almost impossible to get in the trans block hole. I went ahead and purchased a dipstick with a locking fill and a "Hat seal". I have worked for hours and cant seem to get it to go all the way in. I have tried dropping the seal into the hole then pushing the dip into the seal but can get it to go over the bump at the bottom. Then I played around with the seal and the bump on the tube looks like it is meant to go down below the hat seal. Is there different hole sizes that the dipstick fits into?

Any ideas???

Try lubing the seal real well, see if it slides in.

throw away the new dipstick and find an original one. the new dipsticks groove for the o-ring isn't deep enough... I know I had the same problem that i went through along with about 4-5 o-rings before I found another stock dipstick to put in.[:@]
