Default Racing Question

I have someone local (possibly) that has a modded, bolt-on TBSS. They want to run. How well do you think I'd do against this car. I know stock they are rated around 0-60 in 5.6 give or take and run mid 13's. I've seen a few of them Supercharged they ran high 11's trapping around 113.

Basically, I got into a little tiff with some guys on a ls1 truck forum, and they think crapstangs are exactly that, crap. Slow, ugly and with only 2K in mods, they will beat stock S197 GT's. So, I figured I'd kind of put an end to it, and race a faster version of their LSX engine. What do you guys think?

Bring a good set of tires?

Those things launch like nobody's business. One at my track 1.7'd with launch control on a set of Goodyear F1's

Hmm, I think basic bolt-ons and what not. But, even then, I still think they are high 12 SUV's at best. Even S/C'ed, it would be a very good match up, with the Edge still going to me. We'll see, thanks for the input guys.

Hows your hooking abilities? If your getting 2.0 or better 60ft. I can't possibly see you losing....Unless his mods are suspention,H/C, NOS.......Just bolt-ons only, you'll clean his clock..

My bolt-on tbss runs 12.6-12.7 at 105-106 with a 1.7 60'. Thebig brick doesnt mph very well but gets out of the hole great. When I was stock I ran some stock 197's and it was a drivers race I ran 13.79 STOCK.

What does your car run? The Mustang SHOULD EASILY out mph the tbss thats a no-brainer.

Not a Mustang basher!!!! I have had 3 of em and still have one. So please dont take it that way. Just trying to see where you stand with the Mustang.

If he has a stall and spray you might end up with your hands full man. Guys are in the 11's with a stall, bolt ons and spray oh and tires of course.

I have not run the car, but I am able to launch my car well. Similar stangs, just saying, not saying I can do it but, have trapped well over 110. A few on S197forum with similar #'s, ran mid 11's and trapped 120+ with 4.10's, standard Vortech kit, and a spydershaft.

Are you located in IL?

Also, C6Vette- my tires are YZ W Rated, and even launching at 4500 RPM, they will hook after a second of spinning.
