I'm heading to the track Friday to get a couple runs in before it closes for renovations. I picked up a set of used M/T ET Streets and put them on my stock rims to use at the track. My question is what is the best way to go about this. The track is about an hour and a half from where I live. Do I drive there with the street rims/tires I have on every day and change them when I get up there, or do I just drive up there with the DR's on already?

Weather looks good and I shouldn't encounter any rain. I don't know what I would do with my street rims when I got to the track if I put the DR's on once I'm there. I think I would worry about them too much.

What do you all with track rims and tires do?

if the DR tires are radials your ok to drive there on them IMO. if they are bias ply IMO better off to change at the track. as far as what to do with them there- get a cable and lock to tie them together and lock them up. if possible lock them to a fixed object as well

That pretty much says it all.

Ok, I guess what I was thinking was what to do. I think I'll just drive up there with them this time. Thanks for the input.

when i have takin' mine to the track, this is what i do
1. put the rims, jack, blocks, and tq wrench in the trunk (you will have to remove the carpet and spare tire)
2. get to a lever spot, use the blocks on the front tires
3. jack the car up on the rear axle
4. change tires
5. race

I usually just throw them into the back of my friends truck that has a hardtop cover on it.
