thers a big difference in something being small and something look small also...my moms mazda 3 looks small, but its longer than my stang is....its all in dimensions, the boxy look of the new cars makes them appear to be larger....i fail to see how theyre the same length though, if thats the case why dont i have a comfortable backseat and the new ones do?

i really dont know where the interior space went in the newedges. every time i get in one, i always think to myself.."i thought it would be bigger"

but i wouldn't exactly call my backseat "comfortable". theres not too much headroom

s197: Length × Width × Height in: 188.0 × 73.9 × 55.4

new edge: Length × Width × Height in: 183.5 × 73.1 × 52.5

new ones are only 5inches longer and 2 inches taller.....yet they look WAY bigger

classics always look kinda big in pictures, but in person  they are pretty small

That's the way it looks to me too.

My Z-28:  Length × Width × Height in: 193.2 x 74.1 x 51.3

The weird thing is that when standing between my Z-28 and Mustang, the Mustang looks a lot taller than just 1.2 inches.

I'd also bet that the new Challenger, which is a few inches longer than my Z-28, would look a LOT bigger if parked next to it.

and i guess since im used to looking at my car which is lowered 2 inches maybe thats why i dislike the new stangs i see so much....ive not seen one modded s197 in person yet, just a bunch of stock looking ones....which makes them 4 inches taller instead of 2...but even at that, 4" isnt a lot...its just the overall dimensions...they look boxy

what do you mean the challenger dwarfs the mustang? the stang looks bigger than the challenger....i was saying that the challenger looks big and the only way it wont look big is if you set it next to a car the same size (stang, camaro)

i know what you meant, i was making fun of your sentence structure. if you read what you said (not what you meant), you'll see that you said that stangs, maros and yachts do not look smaller than a challenger, and that those are the only things that are

if you change the word "big" to "small" like this

quote:

ORIGINAL: 99BlackPonyGT

lol the only thing that wont look small next to a new challenger is a new mustang, camaro, or yacht

then it says what you meant it to say

One magazine said (in comparing the overall size issue) that the new Challenger (parked next to a Mustang)  looks like Mr.T, while the new Mustang looks like Richard Simmons.

The 2009 Camaro?  I figured they were pushing back another year.

Not a huge fan of the news cars. Dodge ****ed up the challenger with weight and other dodge features *cough*no posi*cough* I think the retro thing was kinda a fad and should just stop now.

In response to the question? You could probably buy 2 mustangs right now and add some mods for the price of the camero. Not to mention what we see pics of do not always make it to production. I have heard this year the challenger is limited to 6000 units and only going to certin deaLers wher the markup is 18 to 20 k above the 38k sticker.

buy the mustang drop a 5.4 and trainiee and the $$$ acessories (Or a beefed 4.6 with tc or sc ) in it and you will spank both of them.
I thought both of these cars would have been on the road by now production wise.
But I bet both would mod out real nice.

just my thoughts. I d rather ride now

I love the looks of the camaro.  The challenger looks sweet but the weight just isn't worth it.  (They will have manuals later on, stop complaining).  The SRT8 Charger looks aggresive as hell, but I've heard mixed reviews on the car.

Wait for the reskinned Mustang and go see both the Mustang and Camaro for yourself.  The Internet does no justice.

If you have nothing to add to the thread why do you post in it?  To flame someone who hasn't even said anything to you?  Your cool
