Default convertible or coupe ?

i have a convertible, but i was wondering, what you guys think looks better a convertible mustang or a coupe mustang (the newer models of course) i mean a lot of people might say convertible when the top is down, but what you guys think in general ?

i think coupes look better and you can customize 'em better in my opinion.. what you think ?

I've always preferred the look of a coupe even (or even especially) against a conv. with its top down. Plus, if you have racing or performance in mind, I understand convertibles are heavier than coupes so that's another disadvantage.

All around I would say the coupe is better. I love the look of a vert with the top down but I think a vert is best if you are looking for a weekend cruise type of car in a warmer climate. When the tops are up on verts though the only ones that look decent to me are the black stangs with the black tops. My mom has one of these and I love driving it every now and again when it is nice out but I wouldn't get one just for those couple of days so coupe is better IMO.

Not only arr convertibles heavier, but in order to compete in serious racing, they have to have rollover bars installed. More weight, more expense.

Of course, you could put the top up on your convertible, when it rains or gets cold. Not that I'd let that influence me too much. Try putting the top of your coupe down on a sunny day. Heh.

I've owned a bunch of convertibles and a bunch of coupes, a couple of trucks, a couple of SUVs,and a couple of vans. Last time I wanted a car, I picked another convertible. I just seem to feel more "in the world" in a convertible. I went faster on race tracks in a coupe, but the convertibles were more fun.

Not that there is anything wrong with coupes, but ... Try putting the top of your coupe down on a sunny day.

From most angles, the convertible S197 looks better with the top up, in my view. The top kind of balances ordisguises the hip-heavy look of the basic Mustang design, seems to me.

i like the coupe (obviously) cuz i am a sucker for that old school fastback look, but i think the verts are quite nice too.

Get a couple and modify it so you can have a targa top!!! That's what I was going to do, I love targas, they are the best of both worlds!!!

I admit I might be a bit biased toward the droptop but i like the coupe too. A convertible is also fun to modify.

coupe, I've never really liked convertibles of any make or model, especially the mustang. some of the more exotic or higher end cars I like their look as convertibles, but I would never get one.

Nothing beats the body lines of a S197 convertible.
