My dad and I got my brother's torino with a 351 out of storage yesterday. My brother comes home from college this weekend and the work starts soon afterward.
The car needs:
4 barrel carb Dual exhaust New air cleaner Paint job (meadowlark yellow doesn't cut it) AOD transmission (3 speed auto comsumes too much gas) New rear diff gears
My buddy in high school had a 70 Torino GT with a 429 4 speed Hurst and a bench seat. It was one of the fastest cars I have ever been in........sweet ride.
Man that is nice. Is that an XL model? That baby is so stock it stinks. I'd leave everything just like it is except I'd install a Pertronix system or something similar.
That car is too original to tear apart. Leave it alone! Especially because it is a 1969 351w. That is a one year only model. You have a real time capsule there. I got a chubber just looking at it.
Go ahead and clean it up but don't phuck it up by trying to turn it into a hotrod.

Unless you deal with rust buckets or stripped cars, no restomod/hotrod please. In your case, keep the authenticity as much as you can. With today's technology, you can make classic cars reliable without destroying the original stuff. Petronix instead of points etc...
I totally redid my Cougar a restomod because it had nothing original in it. No interior. The 351C was blown up, so I really started from scratch. Sure is fun now.

And yea I agree meadowlark yellow, which was what our car was originally, is a bit blan. Go with a maroon with that black vinyl top it would look beautiful .
