For those in the Southwest, it's not too late to plan for the Huntington Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, June 1, where the setting is the expansive lawn of beautiful Central Park, adjacent to the Huntington Beach Public Library.
This has traditionally been a great event with a small Saleen class, but we're aiming for a big crowd this year, so please join us. We've got expanded classes and will be parking on the grass where you can setup your folding chair, relax and catch some rays, or join in the fun! The May 23 deadline for judged entries is quickly approaching, and your Saleen does not need to be in concours condition to participate in this fun-filled day with fellow Saleen owners and enthusiasts -- daily drivers are welcome (just don't expect a trophy). Entry is $30, and you must have your car in place from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Members of the Saleen family will be in attendance. Bring your own family (or have them meet you at the show -- children under 12 are free with a paid adult) and they can enjoy the day with story telling, Hot Wheels races and other activities. There are many vendors (including food vendors) other entertainment for kids big and small -- it's fun for the entire family -- oh, and there are cars to look at as well. Adult spectator admission is $10 (be sure to download a $2 savings coupon or get one at the library).
Proceeds for this event benefit the Huntington Beach Library Children's Resource Center, so it's a great excuse to get together with other Saleen enthusiasts.
Again, don't be intimidated if your car is not concours, but is at least a reasonably clean daily driver -- please still enter the show -- we're just out here to have fun!
Hope to see you there!

Steve Saleen will be in attendance and will be available to sign the cars of any Saleen owners who are entered in the show!
Molly and her Molly Pop Saleen will be there, and she will autograph a Molly Pop poster for each Saleen entrant as a special thanks for participating in this fundraiser event.
We had a nice turnout, but we would have liked to have seen more people show up with their Saleens.
For next year, keep in mind that there is also a "not judged" category, so you can have more fun and less headaches about cleaning the car before the event. And while awards run late, you can generally exit by about 3:00 or 4:00 if you really have to.
