Look people!  Look at what these global warming laws are going to do to our standard of living!  The Democrats who are pushing this through are ADMITTING to a probable increase of $1.50 per gallon!  Holy Schitt! When has the government ever come in under an estimate?

Am I the only one reading this stuff?

This is part of that cap and trade bull$hit that Obama and Hillary are proposing!  This will absolutely cripple our country?  Please! Please! Somebody explain to me how this is a good thing!

Liberalisim is killing this country.

God can we salvage nothing?

You do know that McCain supports the cap & trade system too right?

http://www.johnmccain.com/informing/news/PressReleases/1f8b2869-689e-4e79-bfb4-c20cf1a47297.htm

Oh and btw: I see that you are against the windfall profits tax too. You say that they just will stop expanding here and go elsewhere. Where are they going to go? Europe where they are taxed up their ass? China where they already have a windfall profits tax? Or how about India where they also have a windfall profits tax?

Its about time we use the PROFITS that these people are making off of the everyday consumer for ourselves.

Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Canada or any number of Caribbean islands maybe.  There are a lot of business friendly countries in the world.  We used to be one of them.

Why are oil companies so despised but you guys give the government a complete pass.

As long as the rich guy is taxed it's good?  It doesn't enhance your standard of living one iota. As a matter of fact, it adversely affects it.

Oh, and the fact that mccain supports the cap & trade it is news to me.  It doesn't suprise me at all but I didn't know that.

Our Republic is so screwed.

"Please let the South secede again, Oh Lord.  This time we won't piss off the Yankees so bad. On second thought it wouldn't matter because they have lost the will to fight. Amen."

Oh no I have my issues with the government.
1) Funding a war with t-bills that china is buying up by the mounds
2) Going to a second war when we havent even finished the first.
3) Not giving us enough border protection
4) Loading bills with earmarks (This is done more by democrats then Republicans)
5) Giving farmers subsidies when they are already rich as can be
6) Giving oil companies subsidies when they don't need it either.

I know right now NOTHING is getting done at all because of our stupid partisan bickering on both sides of the party platforms. However when the republicans were in office none of this stuff was addressed either...so both of our parties failed us.

Agree 100%.  The Conservative movement of Newt Gingrich died when W. came into office.  The Republican party became malfesiant in their duties that they were elected to perform, started spending like drunken sailors and they were soundly defeated in 2006 as a result.

The 'safe-seats' that were just recently lost by the GOP in these special elections were won by CONSERVATIVE Democrats.  They hit the GOP from the right!  That is how far the GOP has drifted off course.

All during his first presidential campaign President Bush stated time and  again that he was not a conservative through and through.  He assured all sides that he was sure that he would make them all equally disappointed at one time or another.  He said he would appoint conservatives to the SCOTUS.  And at least on that he has been true to his word.  Scalia, Roberts, Thomas and, oh, what the hell is Bushs other appointees name?  Well, whatever it is, they are a thin black line upon which much of the Conservative culture of America depends.

Look who is stopping us.  Is the  conservatives stopping us from drilling and accessing our own oil? Is it the conservatives stopping us from building new refineries going nuclear? Is it the conservatives that are stopping shale mining and refining?

Who is it?  Who?  You are correct, 2KGT5, with your assesment that it is the liberals who have a definite socialist bent and are the blowboys of the "environmentalist" movements that are deliberatly impeding our growth.

You people don't know what you are pissing away.  Willing to hand massive control and create yet another massive government bureaucracy that will do anything but help the situation.

I really don't understand you people.

Actually I thought most democrats were for nuclear power plants to be honest. However I do agree that we should be opening our resources so that way we can ease the pain and provide more jobs to americans. Maybe we will see it done in our lifetime.

I see where you are frustrated, but as of right now I have to choose between the lesser of the two evils. The democrats have their faults but the republicans really haven't shown me much of anything to get me to vote for them.

A bill that doesn't even have 60 votes?  Boy I sure would be worried about that one.

People wanna bitch about gas prices, why don't they ask themselves why in the hell have they went up so much with a republican in office?  Heres something that is soo true, but funny at the same time.
"Recently, TV comedian Bill Maher quipped that had we elected Col. Sanders as president and chicken prices suddenly went up by four times or more, we wouldn't wonder why. So when George Bush, tied to Big Oil, comes in and this happens, how can anyone reason that it is any other than the fault of Republicans? It was Republicans who gave Big Oil, while making record profits, your tax money in the form of subsidies. It is Republicans who continue to give military contractors millions of your tax dollars. It's a veteran like Republican Sen. John McCain who voted against a G.I. Bill for our current Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. Put simply, the Iraq occupation equals high gas prices plus a recession."

no Perot was just a baby and wasn't serious about the party he founded. for example he wouldn't support any other candidate to run after him etc.

like ive been saying all along Ron Paul. wouldn't it be something if he got the nomination. Saturday i will try to go and help send true limited govt, strict constitutionalist type delegates to the national convention

Brilliant argument. Now why wouldn't we be worrying about this were it not for conservatives?

Please, crack an egg of knowledge on a brother. Help me understand & explain to me where I am wrong.
