ok i know absolutly NOTHING about car audio, but i was looking for something with better sound and some good bass and i came across this deal in my crutchfield catalog. Its a package for $999.99 and this is what it comes with... (I think everything is made by alpine)

1. ALPINE- CDA-9847 in dash CD/MP3/ WMA reciever
2. SPS-170A 6 1/2" 2-way speakers
3. Type S SPS-171A 6 1/2" component system
4. Type-S SWS-1242D 12" subwoofer
5. MRP-M350 200-watt amplifier
6. KVA-420i iPod control interface
7. Streetwires 8-gauge amp wiring kit
8. Q-Logic 12" hatchback-style subwoofer box

Like i said, i know jack about car audio so i have a few questions. I do know that 200 watts sounds kind of weak.. is it?

how will all of this sound, how will the bass sound. Is there anything else i would need?

thanks

Well some people may say alpine is good, but alpine sucks. I have a few friends that own there own audio store and 2 of them use to carry alpine products, until they had to keep replacing them under the warrenty. It wasn't just the speakers either but thier head units, subs, amps, everything. If I were you, I would buy a pioneer head unit, try the new 770mp, CD/MP3/WMA/and Apple compressed files. Also for speakers I would go with pioneer rev series they cost a little more than the rest of pioneers speakers but they are awesome, crisp and clear. For subs try the new JL audio W1V2's they aren't expensive and sound great, for an amp I would go with Directed Amps, they are just awesome, you could go with a JL amp but JL amps are not cheap.

definately stay with alpine, my bro has one in his tahoe and his subs hit twice as hard as they did with his panasonic face, bc of the pre out voltage. also is that 200 w amp for the subs or your components?
