what length pushrods do i want to get for my 68' 302?

If any machine workor swapping of heads has been done, I'd get an adjustable pushrod length checker. That way there's no question.

depends on your setup. cam, heads, rockers, vavles. etc.

get one of these:



then adjust to correct lash, then measure with a large pair of calipers.

and.. what would happen if i got the wrong size? to long, to short?

or $37 for a WAY better set

EDIT: SBF pushrod length is around 6.5 i think so make sure its +/- 1" or so off of a 6.5" pushrod.

should be stock standard size. that's what i threw back in mine with P heads on em, now that i'm swapping to the edelbrocks with true roller rockers i'm using em again since that's what they call for.

The Comp Cams tool is $20, iirc, and you don't have to measure anything. It's set up like a dial indicator so you can read the marks on the tool and compare to the instructions to find the length.
