Brand new 2008 V6 Mustang, with 7 miles on the odometer, for $14,500, purchased on the very last day in the very last hours of 2007.
The dealership needed to meet a yearly manufacturer quota, was desperate to sell two more units to do so, and I came along. They met their quota, made back the money they lost from the sales (and then SOME), and got a resurfacing of their building paid for by Ford.
$14,500 for a brand new 2008 Mustang V6. There is really not many other reasons as good as this one.
basically you all have hit it the nail on the head ...i cant think of too many more reasons....
well one....i enjoy the looks of envy from other drivers in more expensive cars...and the compliments i have gotten from owners of cars like ferarris and corvettes....
i love fords....i love the mustang....any year or engine...meh!
besides...who doesnt like being the underdog once in a while....like most of you...i enjoy the looks on peoples faces when i tell them my pony pack is a 6 ....heh i have even had a few ask if its a shelby.....i have gotten more enjoyment out of this vehicle than any other on a myriad of fronts....

i wanted one since i first saw the steve mcqueen commercial...or maybe it was the million year long commercial around christmas time during American Dreams lol (god Britney Snow is hot lol) - got out of school, which was kinda a waste, cuz if i would have finished, i would have spent over 50K and only been making a yearly salary of what i make now and don't have near the debt....so, out of school, tired of driving a hyundai, had the funds...honestly, i didn't even consider a gt - i could care less - i was just kinda lookin around, found this one (never seen this color) and a legend lime-called both up, went in, the dealer with the LL just took my info - no driving, no looking, nothing...but went to check out the MG, lemme and my gf at the time take it out, burned rubber in the lot on accident lol, had all the paperwork crap done and picked it up next day...kind of dumb thou, cuz when i picked it up, someone scraped it and took some paint off - i was gonna fuss over it, but i was in a hurry, and just fixed it myself...can't tell - it's all good
THIS IS RAMBLING....I'm done....basically, cuz it's COOOL!

I fell in love with the absolute beauty of the car and the V6 has more then enough power for me! Example: My V6 Mustang turned a 14.65@93.58 at the drag strip last month and the fastest car I had back in my muscle-car days(68 Charger R/T w/440)ran a best of 14.30! Only a little over 3 tenths difference, Plus I got 27.6 mpg on a recent trip. Like I said, BEAUTIFUL!

1. My parents bought it for me(gets much better mileage than my F-150 did), so I'm very thankful to have it. I always said the only way I'd ever give up my truck was to have a S197. 2. I think the S197's are one of the best looking cars on the road, regardless of what's under the hood. 3. Computer is showing 22.8 MPG in mostly city driving, can't complain with that. 4. The insurance on a GT was going to be outrageous for a teenager, so the V6 made more sense in that regard. 5. Girls either don't know the difference between a V6 and GT, or don't care. Bottom line, drive a Mustang and you'll pull some chicks. 6. And finally, having a V6 now gives me extra incentive to always do well in school, because the first car I'm going to buy completely on my own is a GT and I can't wait.
EDIT: Just now read the rest of the thread, looks like alot of us have the same ideas.

Powerband, Got mine on the same day as you for $15,188. I couldn't beleive how cheap you could get one of these things. Mine is a black/5spd. and gets lots of positive comments.

Oh maaaann, I was feeling really good about my six untill Powerband and Elcameeeno listed thier prices. Crap I paid $14k for mine and it was a few years old. But, it did already have the 2 shelby stripes over the top (a must have for me). It also had the GT grill (installed by the dealer), And a manual transmission. Is it just Detroit, or are manual trans sixxers (or eights for that matter) almost impossible to find everywhere? Anyway my top reasons I bought my Six.
1. Money, Gt's were anywhere from 5K to 7K more 2. I really don't race anymore so a six was fine 3. It's black w/ white stripes, it's absolutely beautiful, and I fell in love with it on sight 4. It's a manual, It's surprisingly fast, and when I drove it i thought "I'm buying this dude"
And I haven't regretted a single mile.....well at least untill powerband and Elcameeeno piped up. ( lol..not really)
I had a F150 Truck and was sick filling it up and now with the price of gas I did the right thing at the right time because they wanted my truck. LOL My 13 year old son thought it was the coolest car he had ever seen and my Ex-wife got pissed off because she thinks I am driving around in a $30,000 dollar car LOL I paid $17,000 for shhhh lets not tell her. I have allways liked and wanted a Mustang but Family came first. The S197 is a kick ars version of new and old and I WANTED IT.

Umm...what if it's a girl driving the Mustang?
you would either get very jealous and insecure guys OR very happy and impressed ones...... you don't need the insecure type anyways so you're good to go.....

Well, there is something about a guy in a black Mustang. So I guess it does attract the girls...even the girls driving their own Mustang.
Seriously, though, I fell totally in love with my car. While at the dealership, I asked them to check for any Pony Package Mustangs. They showed two, so we went driving the lot. We found one (blue). When we came to mine, the guy got out, looked at the inside and said, "this just like what you want." Black with Dark Charcoal interior and GT appearance. I swear that car was placed there just for me. I tell people that the sky opened up, light began to shine down on my car, and the angels started singing.
1. ALWAYS WANTED A MUSTANG 2. It was the first one in Mineral Gray I found (never found a GT for awhile). 3. The price was right for exactly what I wanted...minus the GT part lol. 4. I really needed the smaller payment, better mpg, and cheaper insurance at the time.
I'm happy with this car! Every day I get to drive it and enjoy my commute...how many people say that because of a car???
Also, comments like the one from the new guy at work (Ford enthusist, car enthusist)..."You drive the Mustang?" Proudly, I said Yes and you can't explain that feeling of being proud of what you drive...American muscle!
