So be and my bro started talking about mustangs last night...
All im really asking for is clarification...
-04' 350Z vs. 99-04 V6 New Edge
According to him V6 New Edge can take a 350Z.
-04' 350Z vs 99-04 New Edge GT
I say that the 350Z would win.
-04' 350Z vs. 05+ Mustang GT
He says the Mustang GT would win
-GM (Camaro) vs. Ford (Mustang)
This one was iffy, since i know very little about the overall triumphs. But, didnt GM win over Ford MANY times during the pony wars? He says Ford owns...
-Saleen vs. Roush (New Edge)
Saleen was faster, i say Roush beat Saleen.
-99' Pony War
Since the Camaro had the LS1 (351ci) and the Mustang only had the 4.6 2V(281ci) is the reason why (of few) GM took the war that year....?
-09' Camaro vs. 04' Termi
The Termi would take it because it depends on the driver. I know little about the new Camaro to make any kind of an argument about this.

I say its an over priced piggy where its potential is. But his response was that it because of all the goodies it has and it is badass(fast).
He's thinking nothing can take him in his Cobra and has a hard-on for Ford. So trying to tell him anything about Ford being beat he would always bring something else up, being very difficult.

depends, LS1 camaro (98-02) then the camaro will come out ahead all the way through 2008 mustang GT

depends on what roush and saleen, it could go either way depending on roush stage 1,2,3 or N/A saleen, S/C saleen or saleen extreme... I would say on the norm saleen will come out ahead

nobody can decide anything on this topic untill the camaro is actually released... it could be a mid 12 second car or a low 14 second car... we just do not know yet

Chances are though that the new maro is going to have a sick powerplant and easily plow the regular mustang gt's. :(

Our humble abode here in OT has been the red headed step child ever since I've been here.....we like it that way  It seems that lately things have been dumped here that actually do pertain to mustangs

For starters, an 04 350Z would be a drivers race for a new edge, and an 04 350Z should be no real match for a well driven S197 GT. And I think that the pony wars ended for ford when they dropped the LT1 into the f bodies. After that GM just had too big of a power advantage for the mustang to compete with in anything except sales.

I wouldnt say it like that. F-bodies almost all ways got the same drive train as the Vette. So just because Ford didnt put out that much power compared to the LT1's didnt meen the pony war was over.

But before the LT1/LS1 even the vette wasn't such a strong performer, only its weight and handling abilities made it a better performer than the mustang/F body. The maros and trans ams pre LT1 weren't able to hold off the 5.0 powered 87 and up foxs even with the 350s. After the LT1 was introduced into the F body platform any performance advantage ford had was out the window. I have never considered the vette to be in the same catagory as a mustang so thats why I didn't include it, the Corvette is not a pony car, it's a sports car.
