Hey there,

I am asking the opinion of all you saleen owners out there what hood you would get if you were in my position. I know this might be sacrilege to even ask but i just would like to get opinons. Right now i have the Saleen bodykit on my 07 gt (sans rear spoiler, and rims). I am sort of torn between two hoods, the stock supercharged saleen hood, or the trufiber GTS3. I love the aggressive look of the GTS 3 but i am just not sure if it would fit what i have already. I also really like the saleen hood, and i know that it would fit with the rest of the car body kit but i am just not sure that it is what i want. Well if money was no object what would you guys choose just so that i know

Austin

Also i dont know if it changes anyones opinion but my car is torch red and after the hood going with matte black stripes and rims.

After reading all the trufiber warranty procedures and rules for poor workmanship/shipping damage claims, I wasn't left with high hopes for a quality product!  Unless there is one in stock somewhere you can carefully inspect before you buy, it sounds like a real crapshoot to get a good one, and from what I have been told they always need more prep work than you think.  My $.02 is to go with a Saleen hood to fit the look of the rest of your car, and further, to at least try to look for a good used one to save $ and fitment hassles.  Used Saleen hoods are for sale pretty often and if it has already been mounted on a car at least you know it shouldn't have fundamental fitment flaws.

Do a Google for "trufiber GTS3" and will find some more pics on some other forums, including ones above.

If you really like the trufiber hood, you may be better off ordering the real version from Shelby as they could probably prep and paint the hood for you

Just my 2 cents.

Please don't rub it in, LOL.  You never find deals like that here in the lovely rustbelt!

I agree with unclemilti, IMHO aluminum is huge advantage over 'glass.

I agree with the local opinion here. That GTS3 hood has to much going on IMO...looks very "ricer"...go with a classic and quality product that you KNOW is going to fit and last.

ok so i wanted to go with that one on craigslist however it is seeming to look more and more shiesty. Also now someone in this forum is telling people that he got scammed by a a guy named victor in chula vista and that is the same info as the guy i was gonna go buy from.
