well the gt40 is not restrictive. it's my favorite intake. i am using the same setup you just said.... edelbrock performer 5.0's and gt40 intake. ported exhaust, cleaned up intakes, comp valve job, and lower is matched to the heads

some will say the 40 is outdated and others flow better, but i disagree.

$600 is a fair price but check these ones out... http://detroit.craigslist.org/pts/673330860.html

i wouldn't use the stock intake though, at least do a cobra or something, you don't wanna have to do the intake again later, and the gt40 lower gives you some good options. ike a breadbox from downs or cobra or real tubular.

stock cam, just heads and intake swap + 80 shot of nitrous i'm expecting to make about375 at the crank, or enuff to dip into the 11's

my buddy did it same setup, heavier car, similar portwork on iron heads, and 125 dry kit.

yeh thats cool yea was just wondering because my dads friend says the upper gt40 intake is restroicted or somthing like that and awas just trying to get to teh bottom of it. i kno by now that the gt40 intakes r better than stock obv. but was just wonderin if the upper intake bolts up fine wit no probs with those heads?yeh and the heads only got 3000 miles on em which is really well 3000 street miles not track miles these things r like new and he throwin in a set of ford rockers too for the price of 600

Is it the tubular one. I have it and its not that its restrictive its that it has restrictions. Basically if you are pushing close to 400 horse than it is restrictive. What you are using it for is perfect, its not one to be used with a power adder. The restrictive part is the lower, I mildly ported mine. The other reason they say the upper is restrictive is cause it can't be ported. You will be fine with it.
