Hey guys. (First post, I know...Don't shoot me ) There's this kid at work that always talks **** about how his (2004?) V8 LS will kick my ass and it's getting really old. I figure it'd be close, but I think I could edge him out...What do you think?
Him: STOCK V8 LS (Down to the tires/wheels), subs in the trunk. Me: 07 V6 Mustang, 3.73 gears.
By the way, I'm really not buying the fact that he runs a high 14 in that car (That's what he says anyways)... 280hp/286tq at 3755lbs vs 210hp/240tq at 3300-3400lbs? What do you guys think? Thanks.
U def need more mods to take one down, gears are a good start though, a t-lock, a branspeed or evoulution cai/tune combo will net u great power too. I say race him from a dig and dont mess up ur launch goo luck

Thanks for the reply Morbid...I remember seeing that you had an LS, so I hoped that you'd reply
What's the difference between the pre-2003 and 2003+ LS models? I'm not quite sure what year it is, so that's why I ask. Thanks again!
the pre 03 models as a downfall did not have VVT and as a result only made around 250BHP... but as a plus they had a fly by wire throttle body... those are the only two significant things
starting in 03 they got VVT and an electronic throttle body giving them 280BHP and a frusterating ETB lag
I raced one when I only had an intake and canned Diablosport tune. He got the jump on me from a 40 roll and I had trouble pulling him back in. In the end, I wasn't able to because there wasn't enough road. He jumped out about a car and a half, and I was only able to pull him back to my fender before I had to shut down.
As Morbid said, they're not to be underestimated. You might have him off the line, but it will be very difficult once you're rolling.
