Default accelerator release

Hello there,
I just got myself an 89 lx convertible 5.0 H0
Whenever i release the accelerator at low rpms I hear a "clunk" noise from the car.
I changed the U-joints to no avail.
Any advise would be appretiated
Thanks

If the clunk is from the front end, check tie rods, tie rod ends, ball joints, rack and pinion bushings, etc. If it is coming from the rear, check the upper and lower control arm bushings. That would be a start.

They could make driving in a straight line challenging. The front end work can be done rather easily but the rear uppers and lowers require caution as you will have to take out the springs if the bushings are bad.

Im pretty sure I can drive in a straight line, i know for a fact that the front inner tire rod needs replacing, but that makes a noise when i go over rough terrain (eg, a speed bump etc.) right?
