Alright guys right now on the 5.0 I have an offroad midpipe and a MAC catback. I want to get a new longtube header/offroad midpipe assembly. Which brand of longtubes is the best? I was looking at the BBK's with the bbk offroad H. What are the pro's and con's of ceramic headers, and chrome headers? There is a pretty big price difference. Also how much different will this sound? I really like the tone of my car, I wonder how different it will sound.
They sound awesome. Its what im running but with a flowmaster setup. Ceramic and chrome doesnt change the sound any. Id get the ceramic ones though. Chrome will blue and eventually fall off and start rusting. The ceramic starts off shiny but eventually just turns to a dull silver but it looks better than the chrome in the long run. Ceramics also run cooler and keep the exhaust heat in the pipes.
I know for a longtube install you have to jack up the motor and stuff, so to be honest I'd rather just have someone do it for me, how much do you think they would charge to install longtubes and a midpipe?
Dont know. I only have to lift the motor for the passenger side. All I did was unbolt the big bolt on the bottom of the motor mounts and put a 4x4 on my jack then jacked the engine up a little bit. They i just moved a wire out of my way (just slid it a little) and the header slipped right in. The driver's side went in from the bottom in about 3 minutes.
