I said street race before I read your post. I race almost exclusively at night when there's no one out. I have on occasion taken a race or so after work, but deffinatly not if there's traffic. I'm to concerned about ****ing up someone elses ride. I don't wanna be that asshole. As a matter of fact, I had a guy in an old school RX-8 bitch at me, for not racing in traffic. What a duche.

I have never engaged in a street race, and I'll have owned my car 4 years this fall. I've punche it next to someone playing, but never exceeded 5 over the limit. (35.lol)

Thats Extremely Hard to Believe.  The first day u owned ur car, u didnt see what it had? You have never launched ur car on the street.  See how it pulls to 100 on the street?

I didnt mean for that to sound like I've never sped before. I've never engaged in a 'contest of speed'. As I said, sure I punched it one time next to a friend just to show off, but not racing by any stretch of the imagination.

As for the 'testing her out' thing. It took me 2 weeks to go above 4K. And to this date, I've never been to 95 mph on the street in this car.

but not that late and only on state roads
cause ii almost never see any state troopers
so i cant get a ticket

did you guys know that?
if your on state road a county/city cop can not give you a ticket .
even if they do you can fight it and more than likely win.
some weird thing i dont know why.
but i got in an accident and the cop took over an hour to get there and no one
got a ticket cause it was state road and it would have been another hour
till the state trooper got there.

i use to do it. Now ive got a beautiful daughter named Shelby and a wife, they need me more than i need street race. And now that i have a family i wont put myself in the situation where i could ruin the lives of my family or someone elses family. Who cares if your car is faster than mine, or if mine is faster than yours. I dont care enough to endager myself or others trying to find out.

You have a daughter named shelby . I think it's time to trade in that gt for a shelby and than one day pass the shelby down to shelby . It only seems right, go do it now!

I almost forgot, very good reason for not racing. Imagine what your family would say/feel if police came to the door saying you were killed street racing or killed someone street racing and are in jail.

^^^ lol.. Very cute kiddo broham.. makes me wish I had one, but then I need to find a woman I can stand for more than ten minutes to do that.. LOL

Meehhh, I still street race now and then, but only roads I know are going to be a) safe enough to do it on without anybody else but myself and the other racer getting hurt if something goes wrong; and b) never in any kind of traffic. Kind of learned my lesson after I got busted for racing about three yrs ago in VA Beach. This guy in an  Audi TT with a fart can pulled up next to me at a stoplight on Princess Anne Rd, four lanes wide, nobody in front of us, with traffic behind us. What neither of us saw was the PoPo sitting about four cars back in the line, behind a big SUV.  6 points on my license and over a grand in accumulated fines wasn't exactly worth it just to cheese off somebody at a stoplight..

I answer the bell if challenged at a light based on several factors. First off I analyze my opponent to make sure it'll be a race. I don't bother with cars that are obviously too slow and are trying to goad me into a measuring-stick race. I also won't run what I perceive to be way out of my league. Everything thereafter is safety before ego. I'm a grown man and realize what takes precedence...

+1 Agreed... i'm pretty much the same way.... but rarely does the 'challenger' come about, and when/if it does- i cant back down.... especially with a mustang of my caliber. And about racing cars out of my league-- i've done it before just to see how i mount to their power and speed. And always am cautious as usual- then again my last race was like 3wks ago (SRT-10-ppfffttt) . But i only drive my car like 1-2's a month, so i rarely have my chances for a brawl....Other then that i just cruise in the slow listening to Aerosmith, or some Ted Nug'... LOL
