no its not genetic, no1 in his bloodline has it. we fed him the wrong diet. WAY to much protein. thats what caused it. so yes we r gonna stud him out because he has an amazing bloodline.

I think you better check your facts, hip dyspasia IS NOT CAUSED BY DIET. A bad diet can make things worse but does not cause it, it is an INHERITED disease, there for it is congenital(means your dog had it from birth).

idk if its 300 to put a dog down but it cost about that much for our last dog. someone poisoned him and it was pretty much the only option. he was like half dead before we got there anyway.
to everyone that says there always a way around to pay for vet bills. **** you. no theres not. like i said before, we are tight on money. and try not to use cedit cards. theyre just a recipe for disaster later on. i feel really bad for my dog right now. its half blind. ill admit it again, i would rather be dead than blind. being blind is my worst fear. and my dog has a hard enough time seeing as it is. shes a freaking dumbass. always runs into ****. she so freaking hyper and wont calm down. thats the problem. when we open the garage door, she wont wait for it to get open enough for her to run out. as soon as she sees daylight, she tries runin out and always bangs into the door and sounds like she ****s up her head and back doing it.
i talked to some people today and i doubt its gonna cost very much. i think at worst, she will lose the eye, but theyll just put some fluid in it to "kill" it. i thought they would have to remove it and surgecally replace it with a new one. thats why i thought it was gonna cost a ****load. but my dad just took her irght now so we'll see.
****. everyones a ****ing treehugger and animal rights activist in this joint.

we can buy food and **** for it. no problem. but vet bills = no no in our house. my friend just took his KITTY CAT to the ****ing vet last month and they charged him $4,000 to put on a cast and cone. **** vets man. they just steal peoples money. my grandma spent well more that 10k on her dog and cat like 2 years ago. and guess what? the dog had cancer and was 13 yrs old! put the ****ing dog DOWN!! it dies like a month later. so did the stupid cat. pretty much the vet said, you pay us 10k or your dog dies. and my grandmas dog was her only friend too so of course she did it.
and we dont buy our dogs. we adopt them from rescue agencies.
maybe i was exagerating on $300 max. but im pretty sure my dad wont pay more than $500 on a bill for an animal. we would MUCH rather see that spent on some disk brakes or an AC for his car. when this dog dies, we already have a plan of getting a newborn puppy. we've never had one and want to train it ourselves. THEN, we might spend more than 4 or 5 hundred on it since we raised it. but weve only had this dog for like 2 yrs. and our last one lasted a yr since it was poisened by some dumbass. probably our grumpy neighbor who needs to die or move to a retirement city. GTFO nieghbor.

My chocolate lab had some sort of eye infection last month. It wasn't swollen shut, but it was cloudy and red as hell, and the bottom part of his eye lid was sagging down. The girlfriend (Now ex ) took him to the vet because I insisted on waiting. She paid $50 for the visit, including $10 for some sort of ointment to put on his eyeball. I was pissed, thought that was too much money when it probably would have healed it's self. But, it worked after just about three days. On the third day, we accidentally left the ointment on the coffee table and he ate it 
I've never paid more than $200 in one trip to the vet, that was for his first round of annual shots and a thorough checkup. They charged $100 for a checkup and X-ray when he broke his leg (No cast, it was a clean cut and healed it's self)
Vets are relatively expensive I guess, but a dog has to be pretty messed up to end up costing more than a few hundred bucks. Your dog's eye thing probably wouldn't cost more than a hundred bucks. If you can't afford that, I understand, just give the dog up for adoption so someone else can.

my dog had its eye scratched by my other dog and it didnt cost much at all to have it looked at and treated, one of my old dogs had multiple eye surgeries and none cost over 500, on a side note you should have never purchased an animal that is almost gaurunteed to have at least one expensive vet bill in its life time if you cant afford it. $300 is rediculous to be the limit of what you will spend to get your dog help, get a job

I once spent $4900 on my dog, and his meds were another $100 a month. I had been saving money to buy a 13 acre piece of land at the end of our road. My dad knew the owner and he was going to let me buy it for $800 an acre. Once I had half saved I was going to give it to him and make payments on the rest. Then my dog got sick. I had to take him out of state to a teaching veterinary hospital. He was there three weeks and had to have round the clock care. It was a lot of money and I hated going to tell the landowner that I wasnt going to be able to buy the land, because I really, really wanted to build a nice little house on it, and live there for the rest of my days. lol I spent it on the dog instead, because I loved the dog dearly, and felt a commitment to take care of him.
Some people may think it was foolish, but a little over a year later, that same dog chased a 3 time convicted rapist out of my house. My parents were vacationing and it was just me and the dog home. The rapist waited til I was in the shower, and came to the bathroom door. My dog sniffed at the door and went crazy, snarling and growling, chewing the door and doorknob. I was scared to death and hadnt brought any clothes in the bathroom with me because I was the only one home. So finally I got my towel on and let the dog out. He went towards the kitchen and I heard the backdoor slam. When I got the gun and back to the door, the dog had chewed the doorknob almost off. lol I called the police and when they got there, they couldnt find him, and the dog was still going crazy, so I asked them to follow him. He led them right to the pervert in my barn. He had tried to beat his last victim to death, but she lived. They caught him and he was put back in prison......for a while.....He was later shot buy a lady that heard him creeping up the hall towards her daughters room. He had duct tape and a knife.
Yeah. My dog was well worth that little bit of money. and I would have still thought he was worth it, even if that hadnt happened.

If you ****ing working 2 jobs then whats the ****ing problem. Holy **** you ownt even give a weeks pay for your dam dog. And credit cards are fine aslong as you don't us e them all the time or dont pay em off, if your that scared of em then only use it for emergincies.....like when your dog needs help...........
