I have a feeling that as soon as the new Camaro drops the Challenger comes down to near sticker.

i agree motor trend tends to be very bias. The challenger was out-perform in alomst every category and still won "yeah right ". The shelby still way sexier imo.

I was in LOVE with the way the new challenger looked.. then it really occured to me.. it isn't just similiar to the 1970 challenger.. it looks almost exactly the same.. the designers must have used 0 effort in coming up with the design.. atleast the s197 only borrowed sections from previous years to make it stand out and look different from any other model year..(+the retro dash in s197)  I still like the looks of the challenger but its just a 1970 shell on a charger.. wow.. how impressive.

I just noticed in Skillzdatkillz sig, he lists his 08 as having AWD.  I wasnt aware of this as an option.  I havent looked it up recently neither.  Is it a typo or true?

Yeah, it's true. It's been available since 07 I believe.

Better than the 20k markups you see on the GT500's.

So it's a contest to see who can get a smallest dealer markup?

I was'nt trying to make a competition, I'm just stating that if you think you can get a Challenger (this year or next) for anywhere near sticker, you're nuts.

Several people on here have know someone who has picked up a GT500 for sticker.

I never said anything about it being a contest, but when somebody brings up markups on the Challenger, you can't forgot about Ford almost doubling the price of the GT500 in markups.

Nobody is forgetting about the 12-20K markups (definately not double) that are almost gone now.

Like I said earlier, at least a couple members here have bought them for sticker.

I just went car shopping around two months ago and seen a red GT500 trying to sell for 63k..pfft. No thank you, I will take my 08 SRT8 and mod it rather than wasting 20k for some cobra badges, a supercharger, and a different grill. No way am I spending 63-65k on a car with 500hp, prehistoric suspension, all while having the same interior (wait a second, IT HAS COBRA BADGES ON THE SEATS) of the lower model 30k car. Call me crazy.

Where the **** do you live? From personal experiences, my dad's friend got a GT500 from a Ford dealership closing down for $40k and my dad and I test drove a GT500 at another dealership that was marked down to $42k. Plus, my dad who is a huge mopar guy, talked to a salesman at a dealership where he got his hemi jeep and my mom's hemi charger and said that they already sold-out all the challengers for this year and mark-ups on all of them were $20k-$25k depending on which color you wanted. And the charger SRT-8's I believe are no longer marked up at all, even though whenever I see one at a dealership they sell very quick.

And you were doing such a good job of keeping your cool...??

What warranted that?

as for the bold, we've already established, nobody is paying that.. thats why they're coming back down

Relax, Frankie.  Don't you remember the last sh!tstorm you started?

I'm glad you will go with the Dodge - one more GT500 sitting at the dealership.

There are GT500's trying to be sold for 60k+, I will bet you money on that. I have seen numerous ones at dealerships going for that. I just checked the other day on autotrader and seen 5-6 USED GT500's dealers were trying to sell for basically 60k.

^^^^ those are sellers that wants to be smart ass. The price for the shelby has dramatically drop down. Although theere are some stupid people with loads of money who pay the 60k  they think it makes them special

Did the autotrader and cars.com search, you are right. But I guarantee you that none of those will sell, anyone in their right mind would search around and buy one for no more than $50k. All we were trying to say is, the cheapest easy to find GT500's go for no more than $50k if your willing to look. While the challengers that are coming out aren't being sold for less than $60k with no options. Sorry for the giant rant, but that's all we're trying to get at. And the facts that were stated before, as right now for the money. The GT500 is:
-Faster
-Cheaper to make really fast
-Better handler
-Better warrantied
-Better MPG wise
-And has roots whine

I actually prefer the SRT8, looks better and is much cheaper. (Ford dealerships have the GT500's going for 60k or more, or at least every one I have seen). The Chally is just looks so badass, and the fact it is NA makes it even better in my opinion.

lol, the first person to pick the challeger just happens to own a charger.

any who, good luck getting a challenger without a 10k+ mark up in the next year.

Sorta like the people favoring the GT500 owning mustangs?

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

There are morons trying to sell X car for X more than they should, that doesnt mean it's sane.

I'm not arguing that the GT500's were, and some are still marked up, but if you really want one, and search hard enough, I'm sure you can find one for sticker, or VERY VERY close

(i can remember a USED GT500 with 3-4K miles being asked 69,995 for...that doenst mean it reflects the norm)
