2002 mustang gt convertable auto vs 00 T/A or STI
 

HI everyone im new and have a question for everyone one here i need to find out what does a 2002 convertable mustang gt with an auto, x pipe and cold air intake and possibly a tuner run in utah weather compared to a 2000 ram air trans am M6 with 4.11s, 3 inch cat back, power programmer and K and N air intake. and if the guy doesnt race the Trans am and races the other car which is a 06 sti bone stock whats the outcome cause im very familiar with mustang convertables with autos most the ones i have raced were 5 speeds! any help would be greatly appreciated thanks mustang gurus!

the trans am will rape the stang and certainly beat the sti

high 13s (at best) for the GT vert....

The T/A is going mid 12s...

Stock STI with the right driver...low 13s...(from a dig STI wins...from a roll...the vert might have a shot unless you have really high elevation..then the STI wins)

(all at sea level - reference - Since I am at ~614ft here... You would have to find your elevation and put a dent in everyones times accordingly) Either way...the Vert is getting beat by either...

thanks everyone for your replys! the guy with the convertable gt just thinks his car the fastest on the road and was saying how he can beat STI's and ls1s are a crappy motor bla bla bla so today at work im gonna have to ask him to prove he can beat a ls1 or a STI and see if he backs down when i tell him my friends have either or to race and their ready when you are! i guess i just dont care for people who talk about their car all day long to me about how bad ass it is and how it beats all these cars and when i look at it im like dude your racing a convertable gt automatic? dont all stangs want a hard top 5 speed? i mean 5 speed is the way to go with a gt dont autos kill the performance alot compared to a 5 speed? i watched a few you youtube videos on STI's vs stangs at the track and i must say those STI's are monsters out of the hole! they get such a good jump its insane! well thanks again for the replies its very helpfull!

I'm usually never a huge advocate for talking positive of the LS1 cars, but a geared one with other bolt on's would only be a race for the GT if the TA accidentally put it in reverse, in which case the GT still might not win:D

Modded LS1 > Stock 06 STI > Modded 02 GT, in this scenario at least. Let us know how it goes
