Default help installing a 302 in a 67

Hi everyone. I am having problems installing a 302 into a 67. Heres my problem. The engine is sitting to far forward. I am trying to install a be cool rad into the car with the engine in place but i need at least another 1.5 inches to clear the pullies.I have checked with the rad company and i have the correct rad that is susposed to be a direct bolt in.I have checked everything else i can think of but cant figure this out. I am hoping that someone on here might have some ideas or had the same problem. If anyone has any mesurements of where the engine should sit in the engine compartment that would really help me figure out if itis in the right location.
Thanks

Wow.. that does look like its sitting way forward. Does the trany sit properly in the car or it off also? It looks like its pulled forward as well quite a bit. What type of motor mounts? I always thought they had a left and right specifically.

would be great if someone could take measurements of his 302/289 in a 67. It looks like plenty of room and engine in right position

The tranny is off too it is pulled all the way forward in its mounts and it dosnt quite touch the engine. There is a little gap between them that you cant see in the pics. the motor mounts are prothane motion control, i got them from summit. I think I am going to have to buy new ones and hope that these ones are built wrong. The motor mount brackets that mount to the shock towers have a left and right but the part that mounts to the motor dosnt. I am going to check the brackets again to make sure.
