I have an 08 GT, MT with the 3.31 rear end. Basically stock except for the Corsa mufflers and FRPP x-pipe. I have 18" black bullitts with Goodyear F1 Supercar tires in 255 size. The tires were balanced perfectly when they were first put on. Within a couple of weeks they were out of balance. I took them back and had them rebalanced. Smooth as glass for a couple of weeks. Most recently, they were balanced on Friday (for the fourth time) and now they are beginning to vibrate again. The guy this time (not the dealer but the local walmart this time to try someplace different) put long strips of weights on this time so I would know immediately if they were falling off. Now, I'm picking up a slight vibration again and it's getting progressively worse. I don't see any places where long strips might have been. Any ideas?

Soooooooooo......................... the wheel-weights have fallen off 4 or 5 times now!!! Go to a good reputable tire shop, and have someone do it correctly. Mabye there is a lot of grease, brake dust or oil on inside of rim, and installer is not cleaning surface well allowing weights to come off.
I am NOT a fan of stores that install tires ANDhave adiscounted priceon the latest Mariah Carey cd [8D]
The weights falling off was the first reaction after the balancing went out the first time. The dealer did the balancing and the install, then rebalanced for free. I'm not a fan of Mariah Carey, so walmart was an attempt to get a quick rebalance by someplace different, and then they rebalanced the second time for free. Same issue each time. The purpose of using the long (4 or 5 inch) strips was to make it so if they fell off, the tire would be way out of balance fast. This is a mild thing at this point and isn't really consistent with a lot of weight falling off at once. I examined the rims closely and I see places where single weights used to be, but no place that looks like a long strip might have fallen off.
Nevertheless, it may well be that the weights are falling off (what are the odds, given two different places doing the balancing?). I'm not sure which shops are reputable, so I may just take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. That's always a hit or miss proposition.
Odds are, weights are not falling off, not this many times. So it is probably something else. When the tires are rebalanced and roll smoothly, I would suggest marking the back side of the tire and wheel with a tire crayon line that runs from the tire to the wheel, to check if the tire(s) is slipping on the wheel. Also, when the vibe returns, I would suggest rechecking the balance of all four before removing any weights. Look for which tire/wheel is out of balance. I don't think it would be all four. On the tire/wheel that becomes out of balance, did it slip on the wheel or just is no longer in balance? If the tire did not slip on the wheel, and it appears none of the wights have fallen off, then there is probably an issue with the tire, and it should be replaced.
Often, a little flat black paint in the unseen bead area of the wheel provides just enough texture to help the tire hold on, and prevent the slippage. Racers often do this to prevent tire slip. Dismount the tire, clean the bead area of the wheel very thouroughly, then spritz the area all the way around with the flat black paint. Remount and rebalance the tire. Depending on what wheel position is slipping, avoid hard braking for a week or so if the front tire is slipping, or hard acceleration if the rear is the problem.
I called the dealer and made an appointment for Saturday. I mentioned that this might be the problem and they acted like I was smoking crack. They are going to take a look and pull in both FRPP and Goodyear to address it as a warranty issue. We'll see how this goes.
