Once again, i need your expert advice. I just changed my mind about my set up. I have decided to go blow thru and just found out that my lighting 90mm MAF is no longer useful for this set up. my question is, what MAF do i need to buy? also, what BOV do i need. Keep in mind that im shooting for 350-370whp. Can you also tell me where is the best place to install the new maf and bov?

We need more specific info about your setup.  Like what kind of blower/intercooler setup etc.  I am uaware of any reason you can't keep the lightning Maf for that power level.  But anyways, the usual blow thru setup has the bypass/bov mounted right after the discharge tube of the blower and the Maf is mounted after the intercooler in the piping (either in the pass fender or inbetween the pipe coming out of the fender and the one going up to the TB).

You will definitely need a re-tune when switching to a blow thru setup.  And you can either run the already existing bypass valve, or buy a bov and mount it in its place.  Although, if you are non-intercooled it would be nearly impossible to convert since your very restricted by space between the blower and the TB and would also be nearly impossible to tune because of all the turbulence that would be present in that short of a space.

edit:  I am currently using the BA2400 by SCT and love it, I can't speak for the other brands since I haven't used them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it would be best to mount it as close to the throttle body as possible because the MAF has an air temp. sensor in it so that way it's reading the temp. of the air right before it enters the intake.

Your right on the 2004s the IAT is part of the Maf sensor unlike previous years where it was seperate.  But the air temp isn't gonna change much in the 2 foot or so from the fender to the TB.  But your right about the IAT positioning, the closer to the TB the more accurate the temp reading will be.

Mount the bov after the intercooler if you have space. Not sure on converting the newer type of maf meters.

Here is everything you need to know about blow thru mafs.  This is from my tuner.

quote:

Please read my posts here concerning MAF and BOV proper placement: http://www.modularpowerhouse.com/forums/showpost.php?p=589430&postcount=45 http://www.modularpowerhouse.com/forums/showpost.php?p=589976&postcount=48 It would be better to switch to a blow-thru, yes.  A proper blow-thru setup, like I described above is always better.  You want the pcm to be able to see the actual aircharge entering into the engine, as close to the engine as possible (but not so close where you would get backwash from the intake/TB area). You definitely do not want the 90mm in a 3" tubing, and you really don't want the 90mm in a blow-thru in the first place.  Here is the MAF housing and sensor that I recommend: http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=234&parent=99  That utilizes a slot-style sensor (ala '05+ Mustang, '04+ F150, '08 Corvette, etc.).  That is absolutely the #1 sensor on the market, and the best sensor on the market for a blow-thru application.  It is very easy to tune, and very repeatable, and is good to 650 rwhp Actual in a 3" blow-thru application.  I have tuned approx. 12 or so vehicles with that in the last 6 months.
