Leave the auto painting up to the pros. If your asking how hard it is i take it you have never done it. I tried to paint my front lip just to see how well it would come out and ................... yeah the next day i droped it off at the paint shop.

Hard to improvise this stuff.
Takes a lot of practice to get it just half way decent.
Also because of the EPA morons, the quality of paint products has gone down the last few years and became very touchy.

By the time you get used to a certain product, they change the formula.

Keep in mind, if your paint job comes out sh#ty, now you have to strip it off and it becomes twice as expensive to repaint properly.

lol Maaco that ****, jk, your screwed major, its like 4 to 5 grand if you get inside the engine bay and have it completely painted. Painting your car is a 10 no matter what you say, plus the supplies and skills are hard to come by

if you want to save money you could probably do all the prep work yourself... or go to Earl Scheib if you couldn't care less about the quality.
If you do it right it will never be worth repainting a perfectly good car. Just get the add-on parts painted to match.

I don't know how people can spend that kind of money on a car. Unless it is used for your work... and is a tax writeoff

alot of places wont touch the car if someone does the prep because they cant gurantee the outcome.  painting is basically in the prep

Painting your own car I give it a 1.  Now as for getting good quality, that would be over a 10.  Painting is not easy. It is a skill that takes time and patience to master.

I completely agree. My cousin has been painting cars for a body shop for 15 years now. I've watched him do stuff before and it looked EASY. I used his equipment and supplies and tried it......not so easy. I agree that it's a skill that's acquired and refined over time and practice. I wouldn't even attempt it.

I know I won't!
Only if you sign a waver. If the paint job takes a dump as soon as I put the gun down to clean it, it's your problem, not mine.
And I'm not spraying some cheap @ss paint brand either.

When I say that to people, they usually run.

Painting cars require a neutral and clean environment that it has to stay that way from begining of prep, to the time that you unmask the shinny paint job

aint that truth.  how much you wanna bet they will touch the car all over and get the oil from your skin on it and want YOU to paint it.  or will go eat a greasy cheeseburger and touch the car not thinking to wash there hands

Or better yet, have a diesel truck running right next to it!
