OK guys, i need some opinions. I have an 04 Mustang thats paid off. I really want to buy a sportbike, but the problem is I live in Phoenix where we get over a hundred days or 100+ degrees. Its already in the 90's now. So if I do buy one now, i probably would be riding it too much in the summer.
As for the Terminator, it speaks for itself. Always wanted one. Anyone ride bikes in 100+ degree heat?
Yea its gonna be pretty warm in 100+ degrees but with the gas going in the direction that its goin ($4.00+) I've been heavily considering a used GSX-R1000.
I'd say get the bike used, pay it off in 2 or 3 years, save money on gas and then when its paid off then buy a termie. They will probably be a little cheaper by then anyways.
Yeah, It would save me a ton of gas (I drive 70 miles round trip to work). And I think the 600's get 40+ mpg. Just dreading the thought or riding to work in 112 degree heat.
Holy jeepers, 70 round trip is quite a bit. But when your on a bike its not really too bad cause your in the wind. It's the stop and go traffic that will eat you up! At least the humidity isnt usually at 100% like it is here in blowHIO, that's the sh!t that will really kill ya. But they make those textile jackets that are pretty protective and allow alot of air through. So I dont know man its your call but my vote is for the bike, even though I want a Termie worse than a crackhead wants crack, the gas is just starting to get ****ing rediculous.
I was considering the same thing getting a New GSX-R to save money on gas. But I only drive 16Miles round trip to work. so actually i was gonna spend more on insurance + the monthly payment + all the safe ryding gear. In my case ill be spending more money on monthly payments than on Gas.. dont get me wrong I would love to have it. But right now im trying to save as much $$$$$$ as possible. In your case driving a bike actually might save you money in the long run + less miles on the stang.
I'm not really doing it for money savings, kinda the opposite. My wife just graduated nursing school and got a job. I've been putting her through school and now that she has a job, its time to reward myself! So really looking for which is the bigger fun factor... Terminator or sport bike

......... kinda question is that..............Stop crying about the heat (lol). Try living in Texas. July & August we touch 115-117 on regular basis and take it with a smile. Get the Cobra and call it day.

Hey, with the name of "02 Ninja" i expected you to push for a Sport Bike all the way.

I have a sport bike as my primary driver in south texas where it does get a bit toasty. I say go with the bike. I drive the hell outta the bike and baby the car. The bike gives me my fix and saves on petro.
Riding a bike in 100 degree heat is pretty miserable. The heat of the sun, the heat of the asphalt and the heat of the bikes motor all add up. 90 degree heat isnt terrible....if you are on the open road, but riding through town is still too hot.
I say get the Termi, but since you asked the question on a mustang forum, I imagine everyone will say that also.

I'm no professional bike rider, but I've driven a Cobra, and a Honda 1000RR. There's no comparison which one puts a bigger smile on my face. It's the bike hands down.
Another thing to mention is that a Cobra, especially modded with the Eaton S/C, is gonna heak soak like a BITCH. It could even be dangerous for the engine. It gets ~90 here in TN, and I know some blower guys that won't even drive their cars during the day in the summer. I wouldn't want to put a termi through a 70mile trip in 110* heat every single day.
I say keep the GT, and drive it when it's hellishly hot outside, and ride the bike when it's nice.

look at my sig. and actually hot days are better than cool days. i dont know if youve ever been on a bike but once the air starts moving over your body the temp can go from hot as balls to cold instantly. im sure u can google up the estimated ambient temp + speed = your temp chart somewhere. its pretty much over 20 degrees difference if your cruising.
i live in florida and it gets hot and humid...but once the bike is moving heat is not an issue.
and yeah i crapped my pants when i saw gas was 4.09 or so for premium yesterday and i was glad i only had to pay like 16$ to fill up my tank.
