I installed one of the adjustable cables that came with my UPR quadrant in my car and within days it was junk!!! What cable works??? I am hearing that I need to go to a firewall adjuster and a non-adjusting cable. What about the Ford Racing cable part # M-7553-A302? What do you use and does it work???

aftermarket cables are junk compared to the oem cable. it is a thicker cable. i modified a stock cable to fit my firewall adjuster and have had no problems since.

I used a stock cable also. But what happened to your cable to make it junk in a few days? Do you have the double or triple hook quad?

I have a triple hook. I am using the hook farthest from teh firewall and I am out of adjustment on the bottom in less than 2 weeks. It is hard to push the pedal again....My quadrant is UPR, but I am beginning to wonder if the cable that came with it is just a junk adjustable cable that came with it. I bought it as a package off of Ebay.

I went to the local junkyard hoping to find a good used OEM cable and just add a firewall asjuster, but no luck. Someone near where I live has a UPR cable and a BBK cable, both new forsale. I don't am not sure if I should try one of these for $50 or just suck it up and by the Maximum Motorsports or an OEM cable.

I've got basically the same thing except the firewall adjuster. From what I understand the adjustable cable gets too long, so I think I am going to try a firewall adjuster first and see if that helps. It's hard to believe a brand new cable is junk already...
