Default GT-40 Motor

I need some opinions. I have been recently considering purchasing a ford motorsports crate gt40 motor for $2,500. I need to know if it's worth the $, or are they just a piece of crap. It's going in my 94 gt, i use as a dialy driver/weekend racer. Any advice would be appreciated.

interesting. The 345hp 5.0l crate on Summit goes for $3200 with GT40 heads and valvetrain, B303 camshaft, 9:1 cr, and pretty much stock everything else.

I got a 351 short block just sitting and waiting on me to order what I need. Then I need to get the block down to Borowski's to get some minor machining and testing done. I would like to get somewhere near 450-500 HP el natural outta there. I'm still debating on what heads to get with it. I think that is the MAIN reason I haven't ordered the kit yet. I'll build the car after I get the motor done. Thinking of a mid 60's Falcon.<edited><editID>converted</editID><editDate>37782.6295486111</editDate></edited>
