Funny thing, I've NEVER been hit in the Austin area for laser. Took my detector in a rental car for work in the valley (McAllen, Brownsville areas) and got hit for the first time with laser. I refuse to mount my front license plate and I don't think they can target me with laser because of it. I've passed MANY cops with laser units and my detector has never gone off...
Doesnt matter if you do or dont have a plate they can still target the vehicle.
Never heard of Valentine. Where do you pick one of those up? About how much?

I have a solo S2, & its a great detector but its getting more pointless by the day to have one. The other day, i was going down the AC expressway I notice the staties have a new to toy. People where being pulled over by the staties everywhere i looked. So I took the hint and did 70 the whole way down when bam, my s2 gets hit w/ the laser and a spilt second later there a trooper on the side of the road around the bend w/ his lil new toy.
However most cops dont have a flip on radar nor a laser cuz there a lot of money next to a reg radar. I live in S. jersey and i know of only one town (medford lakes) that has or use a flip on radar, and only now do the states have lasars..which is gay; cuz there no way a radar detector going to save you.
