I have an 06GT and I'm getting the saleen wheels, and plan to get a saleen front bumper at some point. I've heard that you really don't need to lower the new mustangs with 20's just because they fill the wheel well up enough. What do you all think? If I were to lower it how much would you all go, and what brands should I stick with? I put eibachs on my last mustang (02) and I liked it, but I just don't want to go too low, and have too rough of a ride.

Thanks.

I have the Eiback pro kit and 20's.  Ride isn't much rougher than stock, and in my opinion lowering is a must with 20's.

Ya, I'd lower it. I've got 20s and it definitely needed to be lowered.

+1 but you really dont need much drop to make it look good ;)

I went with the FRPP Lowerings Springs with about an 1.5" drop, give or take all the way around.

Agreed, I've got the CDC Aggressive Chin spoiler so I was in a real pickle. I ended up going with the Tokico D Specs and Steeda Sport Springs. I have to say I'm completely impressed with the ride quality and handling now. I also did the BMR Adj. Panhard Bar and Brace. Eventually I'm going to do the LCAs, UCAs, and sway bars but it rides great now. I've got the D-Specs set at 4 turns from full hard in the front and 5 turns from full hard in the rear.

Eibach claims to lower mine only 1.3, that sounds perfect. Is that about right

BTW  your stang looks awesome, do you have any rear shots of the tires? What size are yours?

1.3" is a good drop unless you've got a low hanging chin spoiler.

Yep, that's right.  1.3 inch drop in the front and 1.4 inch drop in the rear.  Sits just about perfect in my opinion.  I also have the CDC Classic chin spoiler, and have never rubbed it on speed bumps or anything.  The aggressive chin may be an issue though.

I plan on getting a saleen front end, do you think it'll be too low w/ 1.3inches drop?

Thanks!  I appreciate it.  Rear tires are 295's.  Here's a pic.

I used the Eibach Pro-Kit for my V6 and I'm on 20s. Speed bumps are not my friends!

I run 295s on the rear and I dont have issues with steep drives or bumps, however, when the headers went on I had to be a bit more careful on steep drives....

I don't know, do you know what kind of clearance it has? I could measure my car for you.

Eh not sure..I think it'll be ok.. So did you all install the springs yourself? Is it easy?

Yes, I did. I've done about 3 Mustangs. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but it's pretty easy if you're a decent mechanic. If you're just doing the shocks and springs in the rear than it'll be fast. The front isn't bad either, even though a lot of people beg to differ. You'll need a spring compressor for the front as well. I did the whole thing in my shop in about 3 hours taking my time making sure everything was perfect.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some D-specs and Steeda springs but my one-piece driveshaft scares the hell out of me.  I'll have to definitely get some adj. lowers or upper for pinion adjustment.

I also like the H&R coilovers.  Decisions, decisions....

lol at 4x4 I refer to my car as that all the time. I have sportlines waiting to go on and have the cdc agressive chin on so my car is gona be dam low. Im waiting untill I buy rims and get d-specs before I install my springs, already have lca's, relos, panhard ......oh ya and buy another car,lol cause I dont want to drive it anywhere or leave it sit cause im paranoid of thieves unless its winter and I have my 132 lb alarm system in the back seat when I go places, summer its just to hot to leave my rotti in the car.
