So toady was a beautiful day and I decided tro go for the almost mandatory cruise. My girlfriend has been begging me to drive the car since I put it on the road so I figured, "what the hell, let's go." We go out onto route 3 for any NJ or NY people. We get a few miles before we hit some traffic. While sitting in the jam some you "thug" in an SRT8 charger pulls up next to us revving his car but it was barely audible over the bumpin' of his system. I look over to see a white charger sitting on some 22s. He has 3 other people in the car all laughing because for some reason they think his 4K pound car with his 1K pounds of passengers and at least an extra 1K pounds in rims and system is going to "murder" me. My girlfriend is practically begging me to let her race him, so I tell her as soon as traffic breaks if its all clear she can go. We get clear of traffic and have a good mile or two with no cars so I yell to the kid to go on three. We started at a little over ten mph and took off. This kids car looked like a toyota echo trying to race a vette off the line. When his car finally started to move like it was supposed to it was already over for him because he was about 4 or 5 cars back. Just when I look back to throw him a laugh I saw what I can only describe as a maroon missle flying up on us. It was a c6 with some exhaust work because it sounded kind of like a jet fighter screeching past. I guess he was behind us in traffic and decided to show us how a real push rod is supposed to run. I look over at the speedo and we were going 120 and this thing hauled past like we were sittign still. I didn't get a good look enough to tell if it was an LS2 or LS3, but it wouldn't have mattered because either would be way more than a match for my fox. I'm trying to convince my dad to buy one just so I can drive it. If only it was a few weeks from now and I was behind the wheel, I would have shocked the hell out of that vette.

You raced an R/T or V6 with badges

I'm positive it was an SRT 8, just because they don't come in white doesn't mean they can't be white.

EDIT: Let me clarify, there was no door handles(shaved) and the antenna that is supposed to be on the roof was also not there.  The SRT8 emblem was in the correct spots as well as having the SRT bumper and hood, so unless he did all that body work to make it look like an SRT8, it was one with a paint job. I didn't know they didn't come in white, so to be honest it could have been an impostor but I can't say for sure.
EDIT #2: It also had SRT 8 painted on the front driver door, I'm positive that it wasn't a decal so unless that kid( his parents) spent all that money to turn a regular R/T into a jigaboo mobile SRT8, but hell I still can't be sure.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't The 08s (All charger models) have the little antenna on top, 07s and back do not. (The antenna is for FM signals, and the thing it is attached to is for SAT). But yeah, sounds like a poser. There is one in VA beach that looks really sharp, has everything (seats, front bumper, rear bumper, etc...) in a white V6 (SXT) Charger. Back before I got my SRT8 I ran into the guy @ the mall and asked if I could check out the engine and everything, and he said it's a V6 'clone' of the SRT8 and sure enough, V6 motor inside. I know there are some R/Ts posing as SRT8s around in Hampton as well. They use the badges and all... Don't know why though.

Nah, completely different body style. Though the Chryslers have the SRT8 Apperance packages for the R/Ts...

Edit: Forgot to mention it in my first post, good kill!

Positive it was a charger and positive it was an 8 cylinder, it might have been an R/T in disguise, but hey, it said SRT 8, so I'm counting it as one.

I just checked and no SRT8 car comes in white. I'm positive it was a charger, and from the looks of it it was either painted or an R/T all done up to look like an SRT8, because that fugger had the hood, front bumper, and logos all like a real one.

Steele it's a bolt on fox with a cam. Full exhaust with LTs, intake, smog delete, sub frame connectors, MSD ignition box, rear LCAs, and an e cam. But the turbo is on the way and should be here in 4 to 6 weeks. And like I said I'm trying to talk my dad into buying an 06-07 LS2 vette. He is a diehard ford guy but the other night he took one for a test drive at my uncle's dealership and I think he fell in love with it. Hopefully I'll have one of those ever popular "I raced this guy in my dad's vette" threads.

Not doubting what you said, but what just exactly what kind of car do you have and what do you have done to it?

^^^ But I'm sure the rims and all the extra weight(passengers and system) helped because a stock R/T would probably be just as fast or faster depending on how I drive.

Im Pretty sure that he already listed his mods....  Soo read the Whole Thread and not the 1st post .    Have u been to the Track in your car? im not to Familiar with Fox Times/Mods.  Soo if u run low 13's-high 12's im sure it was an 8... ifmid 13's was prolly a Reg Hemi. since u did get a BIG lead lol...
