Not sure. My guess is that the viper would take it in a standing 1/4 mile. Much wider tires to put the power to the ground and as soon as you hook up it takes off.
Here's the report from a previous member when comparing his 2004 viper and 2006 Extreme:
.........the E has the upperhand on the first 1/2 second movement ( well, can't really call
spinning tires movement, now can we! ). The Viper, being a n/a beast, just seems to apply power to those huge 14" wide meats and g-o-e-s on down the road. A big-block V-10 has alot of routine torque compared to the small 281. Even at highway speeds, I feel the Viper "pins you down" more than the E did. Again, big-blocks are just know for more torque throughout the power-band.
