I was wondering since first car that i will get is a 1964 1/2 Mustang should i invest in 5 point or 4 point seatbelts because my parents want me to be safe in it. If i do get in a wreck dont want my head through the steering wheel. And if so how exactly should i mount them to factory seats.

4 point. 5 is overkill.

the only way to mount either a 4 or 5 point system is a roll bar behind the driver seat. otherwise, they sell 3 point kits that arent that hard to install. if its a daily driver then i highly suggest a 3 point system over the race-intended 4 and 5 systems.

I put three point in my 66 copupe. It took about 2 hours and was very simple. I had to drill two holes in the per side on the frame near the window. The bottom parts went into the factory mounts. You drill holes for a plate and you can hardley see it.

If your car have factory belts its a simple install. My came with complete instructions. I got it from CJ's but have seen them in every supplier cataloug I have.

I am under the impression that 4 or 5 point belts are for race cars and would be complete overkill on a street car.

even 4 point is over kill. If your parents wanted you to be safe, they would not have let you buy classic mustang.

Just remember "real" classic owners dont need seat belts.
