So how does that work? Do I just get a tuner and tune stock engine, ot I have to change injectors or something? Because I talked to some shop to go get a tuner and have them tune it, and they asked me if I wanted xcal tuner cal'ed for 42lb injectors! I don't even know what that means. I thought I just attach it to the comp system and that's all. Please help!
You can go one of a few ways. You can get a preloaded tuner, which is the standard, and do all of your tuning yourself. Or you can get a custom tuned tuner which is pretuned and all you do is plug it in and load up the desired tune. They can also have the parameters changed more to your liking if you want to modify any of the parameters.
So all I have to do is just get a custom tunedtuner, plug it in, and drive? Can I get a tuned SCT xcal from vmptunning, and how much would it be? I don't really want to tune it myself (don't want to mess up), I'd rather have it ready to plug it in and drive!
Yes you can get one from them. I'm not sure if all 99-04 V6s used the same ECU code, so you may have to go pull your ECU and get the code off of it. The ECU is located behind the passenger side kick pannel, and I warn you, it's a pain to get out and back it, not hard, just the angle of attack is a bad one because of the passenger seat, and the space is very small. But yes, you'd get a pre tuned tuner from VMP and plug it into your OBD II port, upload the tune you want, unplug the tuner, and wahla, you're done.
Justin at VMP Tuning provides up to three custom tunes when you buy an Xcal or LiveWire. Once you get the tuner from Justinall you need to do is plug it in and upload the tune.
Do NOT get that tuner with 42lb injectors.

That will work, I'm not a 4.10 man myself, but if that's your thing, then it's all good.
FYI, you need a tuner to set the rear gear ratio properly with your ECU so that the speedo doesn't get off, so in short gears = tuner.
Well (just asking)doesn't 4.10 give better performance than 3.73? Also I will need my gears installed first and than have a tuner tuned, right?
Just do a search, there are several threads in the sixer section that have proof that 4.10s, on a stock car, offer little to no difference in performance over 3.73s. Ryan, in his manual sixer, actually lost 1/4 mile time with his 4.10s because his RPMs were going up so fast in first gear that he couldn't gain traction. Other people, such as 03yellowpony (Harvey and old member that's not longer active) had 4.10s on his yellow auto 03, and loved them.
