Default rear end something is wrong again....

I have a 2007 mustang gt.my car been in the shop for the rear end leaking, now the rear end is making this whinning noise and i have no idea what it could be, i can only hear it at slow speeds, it the loudest at 15-20 mph, if anybody has any idea please let me know.

did you do a gear swap at any point? sounds like a gear whine from the description, but I never experienced it myself.

I would imagine low fluid would do that too, or maybe the gear in there got damaged in some way if it was low on fluid for a while (you did mention a leak problem).

given past problem, I'd let the dealer know (unless you have aftermarket gears, then you might want to wait for someone else to chime in here.

I had mine replaced 3 times before it was fixed, I would take it to the dealership they should replace the gears.

It sounds like whoever did the service last didn't put in the "Friction Modifier" when fixing the leak. It's a 3 or 4 ounce additive that goes in with your gear oil. The noise that you hear is the limited slip as your turning slow tight corners. Outside wheel spins faster while turining.

i took it to the dealership and they took care of it,itwas the ring and pinion, clutch pads and they said a couple of bearings as well.only 20000 miles on this 2007 mustang and already been to the shop twice, not very happy with this mustang, but not upset enough to let it go. thanks for the replys just keep a look out for those rear ends...
