I have a 2002 Ford Mustang convertible.  It has the Mach sound package with the 6 cd changer.  Last week when driving around town, my cd player stopped working in the middle of a disc.  It displayed CD Error and has not worked since. I hate the area radio stations and really am going through withdrawal without my cd player!

None of the CD's were burned or had labels that could have come off on them.  They were all original bought CD's. I cannot eject, load, or play any of them.  All slots are full, which the CD player recognizes and displays 'all slots full'.  When I push eject, the display shows ejecting and the number of the CD (ie.1, 2, etc.) the number continues to blink on the display and then after about 10 times of the number blinking, the display shows CD Error.  The CD Error message also appears when I start the car.  Which leads to my second problem-

Since the CD Error problem occurred, when starting the car the sound system delays to start.  The display panel and sound take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to start.  This doesn't happen every time, more like every second or third time I start the vehicle.  Why is it doing this?

I know temperature can effect the player, but it is not that hot in Memphis, TN just yet.

Anyone know what this may be?  Will I have to replace the CD changer?  I have googled this as well and another site that there is a possible reset for the CD changer.  If this is true, then how is this done?  I have looked in my owners manual, and there is no info!

You won't get much help in this section...try posting in the Audio/Visual Electronics section.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

I had the same problem with my car. You are going to have to take off the bezel, remove the stereo. Take the stereo apart and take the cd's out by hand. Sometimes cd's will get stuck inside. I actually removed a BROKEN cd that left plastic bits trapped everywhere. After removing it that player worked like new. Hope this helps!
