Default Tuners

What is the best tuner for my 1994 Mustang V6? I am going to be dropping in a 3.8L SC Supercharged motor in my stang this summer. They told me I will have to burn a chip to get it working right. This may be a dumb question but I have a Mac Mentor Scanner and I was wondren if that would work as a tuner. I really have no idea what a tuner is and what kinda things they do. Thanks for your help.

I've never heard of that scanner. I would look on local forums for recommendations on which local tuner people would suggest for tuning.

Where are you located?

The Mac Mentor is a OBDII code scanner the only reason I ask about that is because it has a part on it that has to do with programming. I really know absolutely nothing about tuners. I am right now in Mankato MN about an hour from the cities for college but in a couple of days I am going to be back in Northwest Indiana. I plan on waiting to tune till after the motor is in I just thought I'd ask about the tuners. Will the sc motor run in my car without tuning the computer??

I third that. A tuner from VMP is what you want.

Will it run? yes
Could it easily blow up? most certainly

I would contact Jutin at www.vmptuning.com and get a tuner and a tune from him.

I can't believe none of you noticed this but none of those tuners will work on a 94/95. The 94/95s still used EEC IV ECUs that are not compatable with EEC V tuners such as the Diablo, X-Cal, etc.

The only ways to tune an EEC IV is with the following:
Anderson PMS Tuning Software (BEST)
SCT CHIP W/Multi Tune Settings (BETTER) however any drastic changes will require a reflash on the chip.
Tweecer RT Tuning Software (GOOD) only problems are it has a huge learning curve and still incures glitches from time to time.
