Lately ive noticed my car has been backfiring alot more than usual. Everytime i let off the gas, i hear it backfire alot. Also, i went out to the track this weekend and my times have decreased. Idk if it was the weather or the track that caused my times to go up. I went from constant 13.3's and 13.4's to 13.7's. My best run was a 13.5 this week, and last time i went.. 13.5 was my worst! Anyone ideas?

What octane fuel are you running? Are you buying fuel at a different place than you usually use?

Backfiring, or popping, is usually associated with timing. But with these cars, the only adjustability is within the ECU. You definetly have a problem. I really doubt it would be the octane, since the ecu would retard the timing automatically to prevent pre-ignition. Timing would be retarded under load, not deceleration or idle. Is the check engine light on?
Its probably safe to assume you would still be under warranty with an 07. Hit dealer up since it would be free.

Try reinstalling your tune first. Its a quick and easy, and will eliminate the KAM (keep alive memory, and adaptive learning)or the tune itself as a possibility.

I am using 93 octane as usual. I buy gas wherever its available when i need it.

SCCAGT - Should i return everything to stock before going in? I will go and reload my tune right now. Anyone else? Thanks for the help so far guys!

Now that i think about it, i did blow my #8 fuse, and i never reloaded my tune after replacing. I hope thats it!

Could be a dirty MAF sensor mucking up the mixture.

Definitely could be the MAF sensor.

How was the weather when you went to the track? I went on Friday night in Houston and the guys in the tower said it was comparable to 300' above sea level. Really hot and humid!
