So I've been seriously thinking about a sound system for the '05 vert, but I refuse to pay the exorbant prices for aftermarket equipment where I live up here.

That said, I'll be travelling to Florida next month (the Orlando and Cocoa Beach area), and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to buy aftermarket car stereo equipment? I'm looking for Rockford Fosgate gear to be specific. Is a box store like Circuit City the way to go ?

Thanks ! :D

rockford USED to make really really really good subs. its a shame they got all cheesy, and no you need to stay as far away from best buy or circuit city as you can.

rockford solid amps(overpriced but will produce some power seen a 4000 on a 16v system doing over 6200watts droped down to.67ohm). chit subs chit comps chit everything.

Abom if ur stuck on rockford then go to CC or BB and have a good day.

Hmmmmmmm, been a long time since I bought stereo equipment, seems RF has gone down the tube :(

Fair enough, far away I will stay from it. I assume Infinity, JL Audio are still decent brands ?

if u want something that will give u a nice sound, that doesnt want to kill your wallet

infinity speakers all around

with some kicker subs (cheap and sound decent)

thats what i plan on doing

cept i want to put kicker comps in the front

im buying from CC only because i get a sick discount cause my brother works for firedog

i live in FL, in the west palm area

but to where u going, just ask around, there's some local shops, plus, ask the ppl at CC, they'll usually point u in the right direction
