Since I'm going to be taking the grille off anyway to intall the HID kit, I was thinking that I really like the center fogs look I've seen. Doing some searches yields some interesting results that I'd like to get more info on. Looks like the two most popular are Street Scene and 3D carbon. Both seem to be about the same price on some of the sponsor's sites.
I read some instructions on the 3D Carbon which suggest they require special bulbs and a retainer used. I've also read that it requires some bending of sheetmetal. Given that, I'm assuming that the need for a special bulb tells me that it won't work with a HID kit (3k from Stangmods). Any thoughts there?
On the street scene, sounds like there were some initial quality problems, but that those are now worked out. Any way to tell the inital ones from the "better" ones, or should I assume due to the timing (some of the posts are almost a year old) that they first gen ones have been weeded out. I've read that the SS ones do not require any bending sheetmetal, and the instructions say nothing about a different bulb, so I'm thinking that it may work with HIDs.
Any additional thoughts here? Anyone running a HID fog and a center mount?
I suppose my other option is to abandon the HID fogs and just get an amber bulb for it...
