I'm looking at getting a pair of gt40's as well as a new intake manifold. I was looking at the BBK SSI series manifold with 70 mm Throttle body and high flow fuel rails. My question is, would the heads and the manifold work well together or should I look at a different combo?

my next question is... will my stock gt cam work with the gt40 head and intake combo or will it be absolutely necessary to upgrade my cam?

not totally necessary the stock cam can make some decent power but while your alrready in there shell out a 150 and atleaast throw in a trickflow stage 1 or comp 270.......my opinion

The SSI will work fine for you set up.

The BBK intake is just fine.
However, there is a better matching intake for you to match the cylinder heads of yours.

Many people have made good power with the stock HO camshaft. But I would go ahead and swap in a better one while Im there also.

holley systemaxx intake is awesome and yeah i'd upgrade the cam while your down there instead of putting it all back together then realizing in a month or so that you want to change it.

I'll have to look back in my mags but MM&FF did a test/independent one on 8-10 intakes on the same engine and all they did was swap out intakes..it was a mild build if I remember and the ssi was the low man on the totem pole ranking 9th or 10th I believe....the rpm II along with the systemax were the front runners;)
