pulled out and drained my gas tank of about 6 gallons of premium and put in my truck
cut out my last floor pan section of rust and welded in the new panel. then sprayed the welds with undercoating to seal em.
and i covered about 80% of my floor with fake dynamatting. (just normal sticky window flashing . its the same exact stuff)
and tomorrow ill spray more undercoating and finish the sound deadener. and hopefully ill clean the trunk area and sound deaden that too.
my firewall insullation should be hear next week since it has to ship by ground due to the hazardous spray adhesive . and ill call mustangsplus and see where the hell my brake line kit is that i ordered on the 26th of april. i got an email saying it was backordered and will be shipped by the 1st of may. today is the 11th and i dont think it takes 10 days to ship 2 hours away from my house .
PICS on hold since my camera is charging...
what did everyone else do today? even though its moms day.

looks good, need some sound deaden in my stang. Well I fiddled with the timing for hours on end, and couldn't seem to get my air to fuel mix correct. So after being pissed for the day ordered a new intake and hopefully a carb tomorrow.
its called Peel&seal self-stick aluminum-faced flashing. i got it from lowes. 6"x25' rolls. its gonna take about 5 rolls to do the floor, doubled on the wheels wells and tranny hump, and the whole trunk. @ $15 a roll. so thats $75 for all the sound deadener. the only cool thing about dynamatting is it comes with a roller i think . but i already had one. item number on the barcode for the peel&seal is 95959 06251. its a gray and blue wrapper.
just to let you know peel and seal is not the same qualities as dynamat. Better yet Second Skin Damplifier. You can look up the comparisons done but they are no where near close. Yes it does do an okay job but not quite the same. Otherwise nice progress.

i would assume they dont work the same just due to the thickness of the material. which if thats the case you can double up the peal & seal and still be cheaper then dynamat ... last i saw that crap was like $50 for enough to do just one door

Dynamat is so overpriced I wouldn't suggest it to anyone..
I did a huge sound deadening/heat insulation project back in January on my 67 and used 100sqft of Fatmat off of Ebay. Most were selling for about 90$ but there was 1 listing for like 70$(shipped) so I snatched it up quick.
If you do the math, not only is PeelnSeal alittle less quality (its all in the thickness), its more expensive too. 15$ for 12.5sqft, that's 120$ for 100sqft.
its actually thicker than i think you guys are expecting. i found a couple versions of this stuff and this was the thickest. my dad is going to buy a small square of dynamat and we're going to compare it with the peel and seal i bought.
it was kinda an impromptu project too. i just found a little leftover in our shed that my dad must have bought years ago so i decided to lay it down. and i decided to go buy more and do my whole floors. some may say it doesnt work as well as name brand **** but we used it in our truck and i know it works. like someone said, its all about the thickness. and this is thick enough.

Hey that is looking awesome, nothing like getting some fresh liner in there. That stuff looks awesome!, are you gonna go all the way into the trunk with it? How many square feet are you using?

I know how thick it is. I ran out of FatMat and had to use a roll of PeelnSeal for my firewall. Also used it for the trunk of my 98. But yes, better than nothing for sure..
I have some posts showing my progress, one after 50sqft and another after 100sqft. I overlapped and doubled alot too. I'll try to find them since I'm bored...
Here's a suggestion for you if your interested. Instead of sound proofing your entire trunk, perhaps you could seal off your trunk from the cabin and sound deaden the barrier. I made a rear seat divider myself and soundproofed it good. I figured, the trunk and can as noisy as it likes as long as I dont hear it. I did however lay some down on the tank and differential hump before I thought about it...

That what I plan on doing. Why waste doing to entine trunk when you could make a small panel. I will make mine out of some thin wood, the velcro it in place, that way it is easily removable.

Also, alot of people on here have used eDead from www.elementaldesigns.com It can be bought as cheap as 1$ a foot and I have a coupon code (eDeadBA) that you can redeem for 15% off. 50ft comes to $54.11
my grandpa keeps informing me to get that the kit that has the sheetmetal that bolts up behind the backseat for safety if you get rearended. i guess its flame proof and stuff. or i might make a panel that fits behind the seat out of sheetmetal and layer it with the matting.
the reason i wanted it in the trunk anyways it cause i think itll seal it up nice and keep out water and moisture. cause i can already see a little bit of surface rust where the tar came off. plus its a nice layer for the carpet to lay on.

+1 on this idea. It not only cuts sound but doubles as a safety feature. I made my own divider as well, I still did the trunk though I had a ton of mat left after doing the interior of the car.
