i just upgraded to the 18" polished wheels that come with the upgraded stangs and the chrome is literally like a millimeter from the caliper, do i need wheel spacers and where can i find them? p.s i have a v6 stang w/ pony package just figured id post here because i figured most people with these wheels have gts

If I had to guess I would say the v6 cars have a slightly different offset due to the rotor hats, but the pony package cars come with 17" bullit wheels so who knows.

without seeing it it's hard to make any reasonable assumptions, but if it's got you worried you can run 1/4 inch spacers if it's a street car. Track guys should avoid running spacers due to the extra load on the studs, but for you they wouldn't be a problem.

I have the American Muscle 18" DD Bullitts. When I first put them on the car I was really worried, just like you are. The spokes are literally a couple MMs from the caliper. That was 8 months ago.After about3000 miles, including many laps on AutoX courses (before I bought some light weight 17s) I've had zero issues.

i forgot to mention, its seems to be making a clicking noise and maybe even scraping the wheel well on turns

Good question, what is the minimum safe number of threads be for a lug? I would figure 3/4" is about as minimum I would like to see. Anyone know?

The spokes are close to the calipers (less than 1/4 inch).

There are a number of calculation methods available for computing this based on screw thread dimensions and materials. Here's one link.

As a practical matter, most places will accept full form thread engagement equal to the stud diameter. Note that OE studs in particular may not be full-form out to the very end, so there may be a requirement that "x" number of threads be visible outside the lug nut or that you might have to remove a nut to demonstrate adequate length.
