End of story. It's apples to oranges...This is what makes new die-hard 'Hemi' guys look stupid.
I wouldn't say that. The the advances in cylinder head design have just changed and improved the hemi's combustion chamber. The benefit of a hemi head is that the valves are not shrouded by the cylinder wall, as they are in the LSX engines at the 2 and 4 o'clock positions for example.
You can see both the new and old hemi chambers offer that benefit. The difference is the presense of the "squish pad" as seen in your photo in the new hemi where the purists cry foul. However, the squish pad actually improves efficiency in higher compression applications, so it was a change for the better.
I actually think it's more of a semi-hemi to be perfectly technical.
I don't think anyone is disputing the effectiveness of the chamber design. Even AFR heads for example using older wedge type chambers are extremely efficient. It's just not really a hemi chamber any more. Like you said, semi-hemi is more accurate, or as was mentioned earlier, polyspherical. Most modern combustion chamber designs are lightyears ahead of their predecessors, and though they may bare similarities they're an entirely different animal.

I reiterate my point. They gotta have the muscle, AND ride quality similar to a Tempur-Pedic Swedish Mattress, equpiied with air-ride. Complete with baby-seal fur seats, laced in golden thread, handwoven by master craftsmen. It must also have steering so sharp that it can initiate a barrell-roll on command.
Price is secondary.
All I care about; is it fast?
Amen. Although I do like nice interiors..... aka complete opposite of Vipers. That interior is gross.
this couldn't be any far from the truth... when a true performer comes along that is bare bones nothing and all about driver and car they absolutely love it
he is payed to criticize anything non british.... but underneath what he is payed for I garuntee you he loves an automobile regardless of country it is made in
he loves some japanese cars, he loves some american cars, and beleive it or not they despise some british cars
