We just finished up a 351W swap in my buddies 5spd 89 with a carb setup. We didnt switch distributors or anything with the ignition and it runs fine. How? Everyone says it is a must to change dizzy/ignition when going from EFI to carb. All we did was re-route the fuel line, plug the return, put on a mechanical pump, and installed a pickup in the stock tank. Can someone please explain to me how this is working? Its got me stumped.

It was a MAF car. All we did was unhook all the EFI connections and put the dist. back in and plug it into the stock location. He didnt change dist, coil, ign module, or anything. I dont get it.

It can work just fine that way. If you look at alot of pics of carbed motors they to use the TFI ignition.
