for comparison, that is the same time posted by the porsche 997 carrera S, the dodge viper SRT10 and just 3 seconds behind the porsche 996 turbo... IN A SEDAN!
also do keep in mind the brand new V8 M3 only could get an 8:05 and the M5 is sitting at 8:13 and the RS4 is sitting at 8:09... just for comparison in the class
Man, that car is gonna be hard to beat for the price. And modding is gonna be as easy as a pulley swap and tune for another 50 or so rwhp... Hopefully its put together better than the last one though. That video on streetfire of the guys CTS-V breaking down over an over again kinda scared me away from the LS2 CTS-V(not that I could afford it anway)

The new CTS-V is getting a 550hp version of the LS9 and will most likely be in the $65k+ range. Talk about luxery performance.
Its not getting any version of the LS9. GM has already announced a new engine, the LSA, to be in the new CTS-V. Its similar to the LS9 in the fact that its basically a blown LS3.

The LSA is a variant of the LS9. It has a smaller eaton and the engine doesn't have the same high rigid/performance parts as the LS9 but I don't believe everything GM says anyways..

They probably don't want to piss off ZR1 owners..
I know that it doesn't share some of the same internals (IE not completely forged) and yes its a smaller heaton.

That's my thoughts on it too! That vid is pretty damning evidence against Cadillac. It goes along with GM's usual arrogance when it comes to standing behind their product. When I had major issues with my brand new Silverado, they turned the other cheek at me. I told them I'd slam them on the internet, and let everyone know how I was treated, and the woman laughed and said "Do you think whatever you say on the internet is really going to stop anyone from buying our cars?"....................I guess this guys vid did
Those CTS-V's are mean macines for sure!
