i just got a new PIONEER AVH-P4000DVD and figured since im replacing the radio, i might as well replace the speakers as well...only thing is, i havent the slightest clue as to which size speakers to get, i just want them to be pioneer as well....all i want to replace are the two door speakers and the two back seat speakers....im not sure if we have tweeters, but if we did, i might replace those as well....any help here?
I have a convertible so my rear speakers come out different from yours. They will both take 6x8's in the rear seat area. The front subs bolt in from inside the door panels so don't try to pry them out. They will break. They take a specific voltage feed from the factory amps so I'm not sure what you would have to go to in order to satisfy what you're looking for. The factory subs satisfy my 50+ year old needs. The factory speakers were weak and had to go. The pioneers are three ways and sound great. I have a pioneer inno satellite radio integrated into the system and everything works well together.

Pioneer 6x8 fits perfectly. Easy install. While you're in there if you want to change out your interior door handles it would be the time to do it.

Hey, what door handle is that and is the finish close the the stock satin?? Thanks!
I just replaced the door speakers today with Infinity 5x7's that had 6x8 tabs for 6x8 mounting. The regular mounting holes fit the door enclosure and I had to bend off the 6x8 tabs.
so i can go out there and buy four 6" x 8" speakers and dont have to worry about them not fitting?...the only speakers i want to change right now are the regular ones...ill leave the tweeters and the subs in there for now....
yes im pretty sure the 6x8s will fit in the front i know that they will fit in the back and the 8" subs have to be the thin ones i thinnk they are by pioneer also

Yep. I put those in my front doors and they fit perfect. I didn't bother with the back speakers. They are easier to change on your 05 than on my 07 though. The 07 you need to take the whole thing apart back there but I'm pretty sure on the 05 you can just pop the old ones out easy.
Good luck.

Also, crutchfield will let you know the sizes of your speakers in your car also. That is who I usually check. But, never order through them, to expensive.
if i bought the kicker ds680 that are 70w, will they blow if installed?...i mean im not going to hook up and amp to them, but if i just used those with my receiver, would they blow?
i could go get the kicker ks which are 140w but its a $40 difference, but il lgo get them if the ds are gonna blow.....
