I have a new 08 SC with 1750 miles on it . Went to the local Mustang Hot Rod shop here in Phoenix and put it on their chassis dyno.377 RWHP and 356 lbs torque.
I was kind of disappointed, as one of the techs from JDM had told me that it should be putting out about 405 RWHP. The Dyno tech said results here in the west consistantly are 20 to 30 HP less than East Coast numbers due to our bad air quality and the summer gas we get with additives? (I'm using 91 pump gas) He said there should be around 15% drive train loss of HP which would be in the 395 to 400 range. Also said the car should get stronger as it wouldn't be totally broken in until 4 - 5,000 miles?
He also said Saleen's tune was very conservative, especially the timing. And that the 07 and above car computers will log and lock inANY change made from the factory tune, which could/would void your warranty.
Anyone know for sure if this is true about the tuning?
You should definetly be in the 400 range. What elevation is Phoenix? Did the dyno shop correct for elevation/pressure etc.? No way that the break is is the culprit either.

Not really sure what the... that means????? For the 465/475 hp kit, those #s are not to bad if.....you just had this done in the last few days. It has been in the low - mid 90's out here and Friiday was somewhat humid.
I ordered the car new from Saleen. They installed the blower, etc. My dyno test was Friday am about 9:00. I don't know if they adjusted for atmospheric conditions. Although it is starting to get a little humid, the temp was only in the low 80's then. The dyno readout sheet says Dynojet Reseach. The test was done by Performance Solutions on 26th Ave.

I don't see an SAE number on the sheet. They just gave me the graph. I did notice that they recorded the date, time, temp, barametric pressure and humidity.
5/29/08 9:39 AM Run conditions 79.68 F 28.76 in-HG, Humidity 10%, STD:1.05
The SAE is usually listed right after humidity below the graph (if it's on there). Sometimes you'll see SAE Smoothing on the top, right-hand corner of the graph.
My original 435 HP tune from Saleen in May of 06" laid down 376rwhp in 72 degree weather, 14% humidity in Rancho Cuccamunga, CA on 91% octane gas. The 475 tune should put down 400-410rwhp with the added 35rwhp or 40 crank HP. The Saleen car itself is programmed with the 465hp tune, which should yield a minimum of 395rwhp. They are tested on 91 octane, and being able to pass CA smog regulation tests. Erik
